The outside of the building is very dingy, marred by grafiti. The rooms are a reasonable size and the bed is comfortable but the wood effect wallpaper on the cupboards is dreadful. The internet was very intermittent, the television is very old and there is no hairdryer. However, for the money, is was reasonable value.

The hotel is very imposing in the small square but when we managed the steep steps the entrance was worth the effort. Wonderful original woodwork with long passages all looking out to a central courtyard where we would later dine. The room was sparse but sufficient for our needs of an overnight stay. Reception was very helpful and pleasant both on check in and out. We ate in the courtyard which was lit very sympathetically and quite romantic. The food was excellent as was the service and a nice wine at 1.50 euros a glass topped it off. Well worth a visit if just for the restaurant.
