Parador de Manzanares

Lovely stay at the Parador at Manzanares-staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were well thought out and it was lovely to have a little terrace with table and chairs to sit out and watch the birds catching insects in the breeze. Easy to find off the main road, plenty of parking, an outdoor pool-everything you could wish for a nice stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights in June 2026. We drove from Toledo and pulled off at Manzanares and into our Parador, a pretty building with a large garden and pool, not that we'd take much advantage of that. The rooms were a good size with nice balconies and garden views and after a coffee in the café we returned to our rooms. Dinner didn't start til 8:30 and there was nothing within walking distance so it was a late night. The food was lovely though, well presented and nicely cooked. I had the burger and it was so large it was quite exhausting to eat but, sadly, it didn't stop us ordering three desserts to share between us. Service was pleasant too but the late meal meant we didn't get to bed until midnight. We had a very nice breakfast - tuna empanada this time for me as well as the buffet - before leaving at 9AM to explore the local area. We had dinner in the Hotel Manzanares opposite us as the Parador didn't start food until 8:30 and we really didn't want another late night. The food wasn't up to Parador standards but it was both available and only 15 euros for a 3 course menu of the day. Overall, excellent service, good location for driving (just off the A road) but bad for walking into the town, nice food although we are still on an English body clock so can't adjust to eating so late and excellent value.

I visited the Parador de Manzanares and ordered a vegetable ciabatta with tuna, hard-boiled egg, and potato chips. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of what is expected from an establishment of this category. The sandwich came without the hard-boiled egg, the potato chips were simply regular fried potatoes, and the filling consisted of an excessive amount of lettuce that completely overshadowed the rest of the contents. Although I have already paid the bill, I consider it a serious mistake to serve a dish that does not correspond to what is described on the menu. The lack of attention to detail in the kitchen completely tarnishes the reputation and quality standard that is expected from the Paradores network. I hope they review the organization of the service so that it does not happen to other customers.
