SBH Costa Calma Beach

The cleanliness throughout the hotel was extremely poor. The bathrooms were dirty, cups and glasses were not properly cleaned, and the pool area was left in a terrible state. There were cigarette ends all over the floor, sticky patches around the pool area from spilled drinks that clearly hadn’t been cleaned, and dirty cups left around from the previous day. Many of the sun loungers and parasols were broken and looked worn out. The food was another major disappointment. It was repetitive, bland and lacked quality the same dishes seemed to appear repeatedly and it was just tasteless slop. The snack bar was almost always empty, so don’t rely on it for food as you’ll end up having to go to the main restaurant anyway. The all-inclusive drinks were also very poor quality. The soft drinks tasted like they were mostly sugar and syrup rather than proper drinks, and the options were very limited. The drinks machines were constantly running out, the coffee machines often had no milk, and the beer taps regularly ran empty. The location is also something to be aware of. The hotel is very isolated, with the nearest shops around a 20-minute walk away and there isn’t much there either. Things became so bad that we actually booked flights home halfway through our holiday because we could no longer tolerate the conditions and wanted to leave early. This is not something we have ever done before and shows just how disappointing our experience was. I am genuinely surprised by some of the positive reviews they must have very low standards as our experience was completely different . The standards we experienced were extremely poor, and we would strongly recommend anyone considering this hotel to look beyond the advertised pictures and do thorough research before booking.

a hotel nightmare. everything is destroyed. you have absolutely nothing to do here. the staff is very rude. the beach at the hotel is very ugly. still . in the evening there is no entertainment for families with children during the day, no activity of any kind

Very beautiful hotel externally, pools, beach, etc., but old and neglected in many aspects. For a beach stay without pretensions. Food is acceptable, although repetitive, and the all-inclusive drinks are of poor quality. The wine has no name…
