Evenia Olympic Palace

Hotel is within half an hour of Girona airport. First impressions were good! Friendly staff, very clean. Our room was large with separate bathroom, bedroom, living room and balcony. The living room had independent air con and a sofa bed which didn’t make a comfy bed, but was ok, this room also had a fridge and telly. You could get BBC 1, 2 , ITV! Channel 4, CBeebies and itv 2 in English. The main bedroom had seperate aircon unit, telly and comfy bed. The rooms were divided by a sliding door and curtain. There was plenty of wardrobes and cupboards. A large balcony, but was shady over looking a civilian street. Lacking was a kettle (So I bought my own). Bathroom had a bath with shower over, lots of hot water and clean, toilet, bidet and double basins. Complex is great, 4 pools a couple of bars, loads of sun chairs, all really clean. Food was brilliant, huge choice, different themes every night, beautifully presented. All staff friendly, smiley and helpful. My only downside was the wifi in the room was DIRE, we were led to believe we should have it, but it was rubbish. This is the only reason I would not return. The food evening service didn’t start until 7pm and the evening entertainment for kids started around 9.30pm. If you re coming with children that could be a problem. Loads of choice of all inclusive drinks…cocktails, sangria, wine etc. It’s about. 15-20 min walk to the sea front, which was a steep shelf before the sea. Lots of shops, bars etc on front. In the middle of town was a pretty church you can go in for free. Lots of tourist shops as well as night clubs on route between.

Good reception and a nice helpful reception. Unfortunately, it is expected that you can only eat in 1 restaurant during your stay. We thought this was a pity for a change. The food was very good (we are normally quite critical of this). The theme nights are fun. Pool is as shown in the pictures. Delicious and our son of 3 has had a good time here. There are plenty of opportunities to get drinks and ice cream. The chips at the bars were also popular. It was busy, though. As a result, it was unfortunately necessary to lay a towel which we prefer not to do. All in all it is just a good hotel where everything is neat and well arranged!. The only real minus for us and also really a point not to return to this is the noise in the hotel room. This is not normal. As multiple holidaymakers we have never had it so bad. Everything can be heard and 5 out of 10 nights we slept really badly. If you go to bed between 12 and 2 on holiday, you don't mind, but with a child of 3, this is far from ideal. We recommend the hotel and give it an 8.

Way to far from the airport , its about 2 hours on the coach, rooms are dated and thin walls , can hear next door , nothing on tv for British ppl , cleaners did come and clean and make beds every day , food is the same every day so not good but plenty of selection but still , who eats green beans for breakfast , went out to eat twice in the 5 days we was there as it got boring and nothing really for the kids except on the snack bar which was chicken nuggets and chips but they soon got fed up with eating them every day , nothing really for the younger 1s in the main hall to eat , only had coffee machine on in the morning so wasn't happy about that "personally" as I don't drink pop or juice so had to have water with my afternoon and evening meal , , staff was friendly but they do tell u where to sit which is a bit annoying , would be nice to sit where u want , entertainment was ok for the kids , 10 minute walk to the main strip with plenty of shops and fast food places, restaurants , clubs , beach at the end of the strip with lots more shops bars restaurants, beach is not sand , it is tiny stone's , kills the feet barefoot and stones get into your footwear so either way your doomed , and a bit of a drop to get into the sea it's a steep couple of steps to get in and out , and its the same all along the sea shore ,we went there once to go on the boats and ski jets that was enough pain for our feet , pools are nice and plenty of them , we went in June so wasn't full but was busy , but had a lovely time around the pool , older kids loved the slides and the adults 😀, got a smaller indoor heated pool so was handy the 1st day or so we arrived as the weather wasn't that warm , bit disappointed when we arrived as we got there around midnight and not so much as a drink or sandwich was offered for what u pay its terrible , bars were closed so couldn't get any kind of drink at all , the 2 little one's had no milk for there bottles or even a cup of tea for them so that was a bad start , none of us would go back again for the money we paid it just wasn't worth it , especially my 3yr old grandson who lived on a few of the chicken nuggets to pay £600 just wasn't worth it
