Bandama Golf Hotel

Great hotel on the edge of the Caldera Bandama. Pros: quiet location, far from the many tourists in the south of Gran Canaria, great breakfast, good beds. Cons: the parking lot can be very busy because there is plenty of parking in front of the golf course. In our room was a beautiful smart TV but there was no wifi. Wifi only works in/near the common areas (lobby, breakfast room). No personal reception - runs via code + whatsapp.

Everything in this hotel is a lie. Old man, no care, no intimacy, the pictures don't correspond to reality. There is no WiFi in the rooms. Not recommended. Don't book here if you don't want to be ripped off.

This is not a criticism, rather it is an observation. The setting of the hotel and the history it has is great for what it now offers. I imagine that the lack of staff makes it impossible to provide a quality service but it would be preferable to close and renovate and soundproof the rooms since you hear first hand who uses the bathroom and if you defecate also in an adjacent room. Something you don't want to have in a room. The rooms are not completely clean and if the room maids come in to clean they only tend the beds. I don't know if they'd change the cushion covers that hold an unpleasant smell. Normally everything would be changed when a client leaves to sanitize every room. In case the entire infrastructure of the hotel needs maintenance, but especially the rooms inside the ceilings have paint about to fall to the floor. And the bathroom windows are dirty from years ago. The painting of the terrace railing is old and rusty that terrace dirt is another subject. The bathroom has a tub so old that it looks like it will come out some terror and if there is no proper hygiene it is worse. The bathroom door needs painting. I imagine the hotel in its golden years had another, much more chic concept. Breakfast would be best not offered. A quality coffee is always appreciated and here it is not. The staff was super friendly. In the dining room several customers including Italians and English complain quite upset about these issues. But in itself the employees who face the customer in the end are not responsible for the issues that concern management.
