Rey Carlos

Great location and the breafkfast choice was plentiful. As per some of the other comments, the rooms are extremely dated (possibly 60s/70s) and in desperate need of modernisation but were clean, comfortable and spacious. Housekeeping staff were friendly and changed the sheets and towels regularly. Only downsides were the ventilation system which hummed at night, even when the a/c was off, and the pool lifeguard: he was clearly bored just watching over the pool, so he got involved in other things like telling people to move their sunbeds back to the wall/not too close to the shower. I'm a solo traveller and placed a few small items on the sunbed next to me but he told to move them as, according to him, the hotel was fully booked and the sunbed would be needed - that was after 4pm when most people were heading back to their rooms and there were several spare sunbeds. Nobody came and asked for the other sunbed so he's clearly a busybody and takes it upon himself to do this when he's bored. Service at the pool bar was slow and chaotic. Even at busy periods there was often only one bar tender who had no idea who was next and people often got fed up of being ignored, or the Spanish guests being served first, so went to the Spar supermarket across the road. Even when two bartenders were at the pool bar, the second one usually spent more time cleaning or in the back room instead of serving guests. This would have been a 4 star review if it wasnt for the ancient decor, meddling lifeguard and chaotic pool bar service.

Spoke with them before arriving as was celebrating my daughter's birthday..asked if poss if they could do something for her. However they went above and beyond, and they made it very special. Massive thanks especially to Aday and Felipe.
