Bluebay Beach Club

Location beautiful, atmosphere lovely, Rooms are lovely but need a little TLC . We stayed in penthouse mainly for the balcony and jacuzzi, jacuzzi would stop working from time to time which was quite annoying, maintenance would come to fix several times ,it also leaked frequently on the balcony floor which would make floor slippery. We used to have frequent holidays here many years ago always very enjoyable. We last came in 2012 so we decided to come back July 2026. Lots of things have changed so much . On a plus side everyone that works there are always so friendly and so helpful . Also it's such a shame the local village at bottom of hill is not as lively as it used to be so many shops and restaurants missing and the kids arcade. It was good value for money and the view from our balcony was amazing.

Overall a great holiday. We are normally travelled far and wide in 5* hotels but fancied trying self catering. The hotel is run down, but you no what it’s actually just okay! It’s clean, the maids work super hard. Pool area is clean. Rooms are really big and spacious. What more could you want? The bar resturant serves great food when you need it, and drinks are great. The only niggle to our holiday was trying to get a 7 seater taxi, 3 nights we tried as we didn’t fancy going in two taxis. In the end we did get two taxis to go for the camel rides as we got cabin fever not able to leave the area! Ended up being a great day to town, and easy to obtain a 7 seater taxi for the way back. It seems 7 seaters do not come to this end of the island. So if you are a larger family be prepared to pay double for taxis! It cost us €40 in the end on the way there, and €18 on the way back! The little square 7-10 mins walk away is perfect, had enough restaurants to keep us happy. Dino supermarket was cheaper than spar! Cut through the tui blue hotel aswell to take a chunk of walking off! Sunbeds! Wow, first holiday I’ve been where you don’t have to fight for them and be up at the crack of dawn! Plenty, and pool area seemed quiet some days! Overall, our first experience of self catering and a lower star we are impressed. We would have defo come back to this hotel if it was easier to get to other restaurants and towns - that is the only reason we wouldn’t come back to this hotel.

Our families took a trip to Gran Canaria in July 2026 and stayed at BlueBay Beach Club. Javier, Paolo and Maria took great care of us. We dealth with Maria the most and she was super helpful. When my eldest stepdaughter got engaged and we couldn't find a congratulations card, she made one for us. Nothing was too much trouble for Maria. We paid to be upgraded to the 6th floor penthouse and the views were fabulous. Will be back in 2027.
