Good location the staff were very helpful and welcoming it was a very relaxing time and the rooms we’re very spacious and were well equipped with everything u needed for a good stay the cleaning team were very respectful and always giving there full attention to detail and anything you needed for your stay would definitely recommend to everyone

We had a very enjoyable stay at Gloria Palace Royal and would definitely recommend it, especially if you’re looking for a relaxing holiday with incredible views. The biggest highlight of this hotel is undoubtedly the breathtaking location. The views over Amadores Beach and the Atlantic Ocean are simply stunning, and the infinity pool is one of the best we’ve experienced. The beach itself is beautiful and only a short walk away. There are sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, as well as a few restaurants, cafés and small shops, making it a lovely place to spend the day. The staff were always friendly and welcoming. Our room was cleaned every day to a high standard, and the restaurant staff were also very pleasant. Reception could sometimes be a little slow, but this seemed more like a relaxed Spanish pace than poor service. The rooms were spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. However, the décor and furniture are starting to look a little dated. Everything is still in good condition, but in a few years the hotel will probably need a refurbishment to keep up with more modern resorts. We stayed in Block 1, which is the furthest building from the restaurants, pools and reception. It wasn’t a problem for us—we even joked that it helped burn off a few calories after meals—but it may not be the best choice for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues. If you forget something in your room while you’re at the restaurant or pool, it’s about a 7-minute walk back. Fortunately, there are lifts that take you to street level, so you don’t have to use the stairs. The hotel also has a nice indoor wellness pool with jacuzzi areas and hydrotherapy jets, which was a pleasant bonus. The gym is well equipped and another great feature for anyone who likes to stay active while on holiday. The hotel is perfect if you want peace and quiet, but don’t expect a lively entertainment programme. The daytime activities were mainly organised by one animator with a very small team, so there wasn’t a great variety compared to many other resorts. Evening entertainment was also quite limited, often started late and didn’t last very long. The only show that really stood out was the Michael Jackson tribute, which was excellent. The food was probably the weakest part of our stay. There was a good selection of cold dishes such as cheeses, cold cuts and salads, but the choice of hot meals was quite limited. While the food was generally good, it wasn’t particularly memorable and lacked variety. It also seemed that the restaurant was understaffed during busy meal times. Tables were often left uncleared for quite a long time before staff could prepare them for the next guests. The hotel is slightly isolated. Apart from the beautiful beach and a nearby SPAR supermarket, there isn’t really a town or promenade within easy walking distance where you can spend the evening. If you enjoy strolling through shops, bars and restaurants at night, you’ll probably need to take a taxi. During the peak summer season, finding a sunbed by the main pool can be difficult. There are plenty of loungers across the hotel’s two outdoor pools, but if you don’t arrive fairly early, you may have to use the smaller pool instead. We imagine this is much less of an issue outside the busiest months. Another advantage is the location in relation to the airport – the transfer takes only around 30–35 minutes. Overall, Gloria Palace Royal is an excellent choice if your priorities are spectacular views, a beautiful infinity pool, direct access to one of Gran Canaria’s best beaches, clean rooms, good facilities and friendly staff. If, however, you’re looking for extensive entertainment, outstanding food or a lively atmosphere, you may find other hotels better suited to your expectations.
