IFA Continental

The hotel is in a great location, close by to the bus station and only a 2 minute walk to the beach , however there is quite a lot of steps which is fine going down, but could be a struggle getting back up in the heat! The hotel itself was always very clean, rooms got cleaned daily with fresh bedding and fresh towels in the bathroom. Rooms are spacious, we stayed in a deluxe sea view room on the 6th floor and had a lovely view. Aircon was hard to work out in the room, we never really fully got it working. Food was nice , lots of options however we found lunch to have more of a variety and more relaxed than dinner. The 24 hour drink selection was a great addition however the cups are small. Reading reviews we were interested in how the sunbed situation would work with reading people having there towels taken whilst being in the pool, however we did not find this to be the case, the towels which got a warning were towels which had been on sunbeds that had not been occupied for a long time, the man in charge always seemed pleasant and checked with surrounding people asking if they had seen the people, we were in and out of the pool most days and never felt nervous to leave the beds and never had a problem with leaving our towel. There isn’t a large selection of sunbeds, especially around the pool areas, the best place to find one is near the kids club or in the late afternoon. Daytime entertainment was average, aqua aerobics was good fun, bingo was available most days as well as other activities such as kicking a football into a small goal or darts. Evening entertainment was busy and we struggled to get a seat outside, people would save seats for the rest if there family from early so if you want to see it/be involved I would recommend to get there early. We did manage to get a seat around the corner which is nice if you are not bothered about seeing the entertainment. Overall we had a great stay and would highly recommend

Great location have always loved staying at Abora Continental, always managed to find something we can eat and the cakes are delicious, but on this occasion we were not informed of building renovations happening to the shops below the first floor, waking up to drilling and banging was a little uncomfortable, and informed choice would have been better for us

Overall we had a pleasant stay, but there are some areas where the hotel could improve. The biggest positive is undoubtedly the staff. Everyone we encountered was excellent. Hard working, friendly and approachable. The restaurant waiting staff, cleaning staff, bar staff and entertainment team all worked tirelessly and always had a smile on their faces. The hotel was also kept spotlessly clean throughout, and the pool was the perfect temperature, making it enjoyable to use at any time of the day. Unfortunately there were a few disappointing aspects. The food was quite hit and miss. The fish was sometimes overcooked and also sometimes contained a lot of bones. There wasn't a great deal of choice for fussier eaters. Snack options between meals were also limited, and it was disappointing that ice cream wasn't available throughout the day on the all inclusive package. The wine from the tap was awful. The showers were frustrating to use, as it was difficult to get the water to a comfortable, consistent temperature. The pool was also noticeably smaller than it appears in the brochure. Overall, the fantastic staff and cleanliness made an enjoyable stay, but improvements to the food and drink would make a significant difference.
