Lopesan Baobab Resort

We arrived very late after a delayed flight, only to find that one of our rooms wasn’t ready (we were a family of 2 adults and two older kids) and were given a temporary room for the night. After such a long journey, it was a disappointing start. The following morning, however, the team could not have handled the situation better. Without us having to ask, they upgraded our family to two beautiful Junior Suites next to each other, and also left us a lovely tray of chocolates and a bottle of fizz as an apology. This gave us the Unique upgrade for poolside only. From that moment on, our holiday was everything we had hoped for. The hotel is stunning, the grounds and pools are beautiful, the staff are friendly and professional, and the location in Meloneras is perfect. Mistakes can happen in any hotel, but what really matters is how they’re dealt with. The way the Lopesan Baobab Resort responded completely changed our experience, and we left feeling genuinely well looked after. Thank you to everyone who helped turn a difficult arrival into a fantastic family holiday. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Room had everything we required and was lovely and cool. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, with amazing decor. Location was perfect too, close to the dunes, a boulevard with shops etc. The pools were fantastic with quieter options as well as busier areas. Food was great and good selection and variety. One highlight of our stay was the Painting and Wine event, pity it was only once during our weeks stay as this was a great way to meet other people and engage with some of the staff (who were great!)

Our third stay at Baobab Lopesan was every bit as enjoyable as the first. A huge thank you to the entire team for another fantastic holiday. I work in the hotel industry and have since recommended the resort to many colleagues, which is testament to the experience we received during our stay in May 2026. Before travelling, I noticed a number of TripAdvisor reviews suggesting the resort was no longer five-star and in need of refurbishment. I'll admit they made me question whether we had made the right decision. However, when we arrived, we were delighted that we had gone ahead with our booking. Yes, there are a few missing mosaic tiles in some of the pools, and there is some minor wear and tear on the bedroom furniture, but these are insignificant and in no way impact or detract from the overall quality of the resort. The property is immaculately maintained, and you'll see team members cleaning and caring for it throughout the day. A special mention must go to Laura P. from the Guest Relations team, who is exceptional at her job. We needed to arrange private transfers to and from the resort, and the attention to detail in her communication was beyond five-star. Nothing was overlooked, and the personalised communication, including her acknowledgement of our previous stays, made us feel genuinely valued as returning guests. The buffet has always been of a high standard, but we actually felt it had improved even further since our last visit. The 'Dine Around' option is excellent and gave us the opportunity to experience two of the other Lopesan hotels, which was another highlight of our stay. The level of detail throughout the resort is exceptional. From the impressive architecture and landscaping to the signature scent on arrival and the carefully considered lighting throughout the property, everything has been designed to create a memorable guest experience. This was also our first holiday abroad with our three children, all under the age of six, and they had an absolute ball. They loved the daily interactions with the team and the children's facilities. A special mention also goes to the restaurant team, who consistently took the time to chat with our children and made every meal feel welcoming. The Housekeeping team were equally outstanding, servicing our room each day to an exceptional standard, with fresh towels, perfectly made beds and the room presented as though we were arriving for the first time. For us, Baobab Lopesan remains our favourite resort, and we can't wait to return. If you're thinking of booking, don't hesitate.
