We recently returned from a fantastic stay at Sol Barbacan, and we cannot recommend it enough for families! * The Accommodation: Our bungalow was incredibly spacious, giving us plenty of room to stretch out and relax. * Cleanliness & Service: The entire resort was absolutely spotless. You can tell the team takes great pride in maintaining the property. Every single staff member we encountered was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. * The Highlight — The Animation Team: A massive shoutout to Carlos, Max, and the rest of the animation team! They were absolutely fantastic. They got our kids settled in straight away, making them feel so special and creating lifelong memories for them. They truly made our holiday. Loads of options for food and drink local. > One small suggestion for improvement: It would be great to see more draught beer options at the pool bar. Currently, Heineken is the only draught beer available, and having a bit more variety to choose from while relaxing by the pool would make the experience perfect! > Overall, we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back. If you want to feel at home and with family, this is your hotel. From the first day they made us feel welcome. All the staff is attentive, kind, and always willing to help. We want to especially highlight the animation team: Naira, Carlos, Miriam, Max, and Eli, who made both children and adults enjoy to the fullest. We also want to thank the treatment and attention from Desiree, Roberto, Fran, Trini, the entire maintenance team, and of course, the lifeguard Valentín, always attentive and with a smile. My family and I have been delighted with the experience. The hotel is very well maintained, the rooms are spacious, comfortable, with air conditioning, and everything was impeccably clean. Without a doubt, we will return. Thank you very much to the entire team for making our vacation unforgettable! A big hug from all our family and, especially, from Danel and Amets. The resort itself is neat, the apartments are spacious and the staff is very friendly. You will be greeted friendly everywhere and therefore feel welcome quickly. That is precisely why we regret that our holiday experience ultimately did not match the expectations that were raised by both TUI and the hotel beforehand. It was communicated in advance that the renovation work would be completed around 26 June. In reality, work was still going on after that and drilling and mincing was still going on around the pool on July 2, causing noise pollution. In addition, the slides were closed during our entire stay. The playground finally opened on July 1 together with the new swimming pool, the Aquasplash part only July 2 and is also not constant but with moments. We were traveling with a three-year-old daughter and had chosen this resort precisely because of these children's facilities. That added to the disappointment. What has frustrated us the most was the communication. Several times we asked when the slides and the Aqua Splash section would open. We got different answers each time, ranging from "tomorrow" to "in two hours." Ultimately, these facilities did not open during our stay. The hotel referred us to TUI and TUI referred us to the hotel again, so we did not get a clear and reliable answer during the whole holiday. On our last day of vacation we discussed our concerns with the Guest Experience Manager. Although understanding was shown for our situation, we were again referred to TUI and no concrete solution was forthcoming. That gave us the feeling that little ownership was taken for the impact that the work and closed facilities had on our holiday. What has surprised us in addition is that no kind of concession or attention has been offered from the hotel. We understand that renovations can run late, but it is precisely at such times that hospitality becomes visible. A small gesture could have created a lot of understanding. The new pool is beautiful and without a doubt a nice addition to the resort. The animation team, and especially Max, Carlos and Naira, deserve a big compliment. Despite the circumstances, they have made it a party for both children and adults every day. Their enthusiasm and commitment have made up for much and the hotel should be proud of staff like them. This resort definitely has the potential to score much higher once all work is fully completed. The accommodation is beautiful, the staff friendly and the animation team fantastic. Unfortunately, the reality during our stay did not correspond to the expectations that had been raised beforehand. If all the facilities had been available, communication had been clearer and more ownership had been shown from the hotel, we would undoubtedly have given a significantly more positive review.
