La Santa Cruz Resort

Almunecar is a small spanish town situated on the Costa tropical about a 1 hour drive from Malaga, a destination loved by the Spanish themselfs, who colonize every inch of the place from mid June to the beginning of September. If your looking for a mini Blackpool with the sun you are in the wrong place. The apartments are a good walk or drive from the beach's but this is compensated by the well proportioned terraces which are furnished to an excellent standard. Plus there is the peace and quiet not always associated with Spanish holidays. The apartments are well decorated, spotless and comfortable with most of what you would need for a pleasent stay. There is underground parking plus ample off street parking at the apartments. This is mainly a Spanish town, yes there are some good expat bars and restaurants but you will need at least some basic Spanish to get by. When you order a beer or drink in any local bar or restaurant you will get tapas, don't panick, it's free a true old fashioned tradition, just smile say thank you and enjoy.

We stayed here in January and has got nice penthouse apartment with a huge terrace around 40 sq.m and panoramic sea view. Good large living room, nice furniture. Stayed there around two weeks. Probably one of the best aparhotel in terms of value for money. 15 min walk to the beach. Beds are standard, not huge. Cleaning service every three days. Swimming pool was closed and small.

We stayed in 2 bedroomed apartment, very nice, clean with balcony overlooking the sea from a distance and the hills. It appeared very quiet when we were there, probably out of season. Only downside was the gym was not open because of this. Outside pool was nice, the whole place was neat and tidy.
