Balneario De Lanjaron

Prices of 5 stars, and in reality, it is a roadside motel, old and small rooms, lack of staff, scarce breakfast, super small and overpriced spa.

After reading the negative comments about the spa, we did not request this service; we preferred to go to the outdoor pools. The lower pool was small and crowded, so we opted for the upper one, which they already warn you has a couple of "somewhat steep" slopes... that recommendation was an understatement. The room was not bad, but it was not 4 stars. The breakfast was basic. And the outdoor facilities were very neglected; it is evident that there is no gardening or maintenance staff. There are fallen plants, dry leaves everywhere, and rusty pipes and faucets.

I didn't need to stay. Retired I am dedicated to travel as much as I can. I've spent a couple of days in the Alpujarra Grenadine, with all the slopes and ditches full of green and flowers. The snows still present in the Mulhacen and Veleta peaks make the place a paradise environment. I visited several of the pricey towns, including Lanjarón because I was enjoying the trip so much that I planned this fall to come back and stay at the Hotel Balneario. On the outside it looks new and the (small) hall does not give too much information about how the rest of the hotel is. I asked the front desk for information about the prices and services of the spa, and the hotel has a package for seniors outside the Imserso, reasonably priced for a supposed 4 stars. I asked (16/04/2026 about 12h00) a "brilliant" receptionist if she could see what the common areas, restaurant etc... were like and the answer was simply from social affairs officer : "you can not visit anything if you are not housed" I replied that his reply showed a commendable trade policy and left. I don’t know if the director or any superior of this “magnificent” commercial is interested in this information, but I’m sure potential customers would find it interesting. However... already back home I was still thinking of going to the resort in autumn and I have started to seek opinions from clients. After reading the opinions of previous clients in this forum, any doubts have been cleared. I hope that the company and its receptionist enjoy all they can the thermal programs of the Imserso, which have apparently convinced the company and my favorite receptionist, that why try to do it well.
