Parador De Hondarribia Hotel

Fabulous place from the reign of Charles V. We had a room facing the bay. Breakfasts are in this semi-enclosed Renaissance interior. The staff and facilities are what one expects from Paradors. One can order drinks and sit outside on a terrace facing the bay. The small plaza outside is quiet and scenic, with walks to great places to eat. We got a taxi to take us to the nearby train station just a few kilometers over the Spanish border.

With those high ceilings, those remarkable stones, and that privileged location over the Bay of Txingudi (not in vain is it a fortress), you feel very good at the Parador de Hondarribia, especially if your company is optimal.

The Parador is situated on high ground overlooking the Spanish/French border. There is a lift from the lower promenade level up to the hotel which is situated in an old town square. The interior and rooms are very good, but note there is not a restaurant at this hotel.
