Hotel Royal Plaza

Excellent location, walking distance to old town, marina a beach, very clean and comfortable rooms with stunning view. I upgraded to a delux room, which I think was with the £10 a night extra just for the lovely view from the balcony. Roff top pool was lovely, freezing cold but in the height of summer would be a welcome place to cool down - also has a stunning view of the old town from it. Reception staff and other members of staff were helpful and polite. If I ever stayed in Ibiza Town again I would check availability here first!

I read all kinds of negatives about this hotel, but my experience was excellent. I had a single room, which was clean, comfortable with excellent quiet air conditioning. Fabulous shower. The staff were very welcoming. It is situated an easy walk away from the old town which is fabulous. I enjoyed the breakfast and the little bottle of iced water was very welcome on arrival. Highly recommended. Excellent value for the money.

The worst treatment I have received in a hotel. I only stayed one day to get to know the island a little. The first thing that happened to me was that in the hotel restaurant, they took a long time to serve me. I arrived first, then a guy came in alone, and a large group followed. They attended to everyone, and I waited for more than an hour. They did not bring me the dessert, and after waiting 25 minutes, I asked, but they seemed focused on the other customers. In the end, they told me there had been a mistake. When they finally brought it to me, the group had already finished eating all their dishes. At night, I was startled because someone knocked on my door. It was the housekeeper; she had knocked on the wrong door. She apologized, and there was no problem. Now comes the surreal part (the word of the taxi driver who took me to the airport when I told him what happened). There was an hour left before leaving the hotel; they do not clean the rooms until check-out that day. I was brushing my teeth when I heard someone knock on the door, and instantly, they opened the door without me being able to say anything. It was the cleaning staff. They were going to enter without any reason and without the guest's permission. I was surprised because it is an act against your privacy to have someone open the door without your permission or without needing to clean the room, not knowing if you are in the room, if you are showering, if you are naked, if you are with your partner... I asked them if it was normal, and since she was a girl, she became rude, claiming she had the right to enter, that if the door was open (a lie, how could I leave the door open!!!) And even so, she would not have the right to enter without permission... she should put up the sign... all in a rude manner. I could not hold back and told her that if I were a man, she would not speak to me that way. She took advantage of the fact that I was alone and I am a girl with a good and defenseless appearance, and she became very rude and defensive instead of acknowledging the facts. Immediately, I called the front desk, and they thought it was normal that they had entered without permission. I have worked in the tourism sector, and it is unacceptable that the customer has no privacy and is spoken to like that. I have seen my privacy on the floor, and they treated me terribly (if I were a man, they would have even apologized for entering without permission). I do not recommend it to anyone. I would not return even for free!
