As a family we had a beach apartment. The apartment was a good size with plenty of self-catering amenities (despite us being all inclusive). Although we couldn't access any British TV and a few few fixtures were wobbly, we were generally happy with the room. It opened onto the secondary pool which never got particularly busy. However, it was very deep and there was only a small corner for the little children. You could always get a sun lounger and parasol. The only problem with this secondary pool was that there were no refreshments or bar provided. So if you were all inclusive you had to leave, cross the road, and enter the main hotel and access the bar there. This was quite frustrating, especially when you want to keep your children hydrated. We found it impossible to get sun loungers around the main pool but did get them around the kiddies splash pool. The children were really happy with this pool. However, there were some days when the sprayers didn't work. The pool areas were generally clean and there was a lifeguard present most of the time, although their attention was questionable. In terms of food, we were really satisfied with what was provided. We felt that there was a variety whilst there were some daily staples. We left the restaurant at breakfast, lunch and dinner full and satisfied. The options for alcohol and cocktails were limited, with cocktails being made by a machine and not by staff. If you are looking for a boozy all inclusive, this is possibly not ideal. As a non-drinker, I had access to a selection of non-alcoholic drinks but not mocktails. The location of the hotel is ideal in that it is not too far away from the airport or busy areas but far enough away that these things don't bother you. Taxis are easy to catch and not too expensive. Whilst the hotel is situated on the beach, we were disappointed with the cleanliness of the beach. There was quite a lot of washed up plastic in the bay and the sand along the tide line was full of microplastics. We caught a taxi to Cala Llonga and enjoyed a much nicer beach experience. We didn't make use of the children's club and only enjoyed two evenings of entertainment (our choice), but the entertainment we saw was good. The children loved the K-pop event and the fire dancing. The rooms that these took place in had air conditioning but not many members of staff on the bar which led to queues. Also, there didn't seem to be enough space for everybody so it got a little cramped. The staff that we talk to were pleasant, but as we made no complaints, I cannot comment further on their customer service. However, the waiting staff in the restaurant were really good and our plates were cleared quickly. I wouldn't say that they were overly friendly but then again overly friendly waiting staff can be annoying. There are certainly wasn't a party vibe at this hotel, it was geared towards families. People seemed happy and were enjoying themselves. We got talking to other families and our children made holiday friends. Our children are aged 4 and 9, I am not sure how much there was to do for teenagers other than swimming in the pool, playing on the beach, or playing in the game's room (which we did not access).

Very, very disappointed. My partner and I decided to go to Ibiza for our baby moon, last trip before baby is born. While the area is amazing, away from all the busy and party Ibiza. There are other nice hotels you can choose before spending two salaries in this one. We decided to go with half board as we were not sure what I would be able to do being heavily pregnant with this heat. To guarantee a good experience and be prepared we called the hotel 3 weeks in advance asking whether it’s an option to get all inclusive for certain days that we want to spend in the hotel. A lady said that we could do it no problem for 30 euros each per day. That was amazing and worked well for us. Surprisingly when we did the check in we were told that we needed to make a decision there. As I said we were not sure what I was able to do or not with this heat, so that ended on an uncomfortable situation between my partner and me deciding what to do. We ended paying 400 euros extra there. Ok no problem, at least now we have all inclusive…. Wait and see We finally got in the room, we got an accesible room? Well I’m pregnant I don’t have any disability but thanks. The shower of the accesible toilet was so uncomfortable, glass only closed a little so the rest of the water ended soaking all the toilet, there was indeed a alcantarilla in the middle of the toilet that didn’t even drain. Everyday after shower we had all the towels soaking trying to clean that mess! If you wanted to use the toilet after with long dress? All the dress ended wet. Finally we were able to use our “ all inclusive experience “ cocktails are not even made by a Bar man, they have a machine to pull them like if it’s Coke? Beer pulled in small plastic cups. Snack bar only have 3 items, everyday. 2 options of ice cream all included. And the cherry on top of the cake, the alcohol free stuff. Only one cocktail 0.0 and beer 0.0. If you recieve a menu with beefeater 0.0 don’t worry, they don’t have it. So all inclusive experience for me that I can’t drink ended. I could only take Diet Coke and water, everyday. And this is not even about me being pregnant. There’s kids that would like smoothies? Free alcohol cocktails? People that just don’t drink. I paid 400 extras that I didn’t consume!!! Apart from that, on that menu that it’s clearly visible on the website you can see that if you select all inclusive you also have a half full prices in other stuff like bottles of wine, bottles of beer. So we were under the impression that if we wanted something extra we could get 50% discount with it. When we arrive to the bar, no one was aware of this and they sent us to the reception, we walked to the reception and the lady said “ we don’t know anything about the bar you have to ask them” we came back to the bar and they said “ that is the one from last year reception did not want to update it yet” at this point I couldn’t believe this. All our experience was a big amount of lies. We were so disappointed that we ended having dinner out the rest of our stay so I could have something else than a Diet Coke and cheaper bottles of beer for my partner. Reception seem like they don’t know anything! We asked for simple things that were hanging on the lifts and reception like sunset roof in the hotel, they didn’t have a clue what was that. You want to change your pool towel? You need to pay, nobody informed us of this. Check out experience …. Our flight was not till 22.00 and check out is at 10.30 ( quite ridiculous knowing that check in is at 15.00 but anyway) we asked for a later check out as at this point of the trip I was exhausted and I cannot stand on the heat anymore, so we asked in advance, the evening before. Lady said “ ask tomorrow” so that’s what we did, we came down and 9 to ask and they just simple said, no. This is now , a joke. As a part of Leonardo members they send you a bunch of emails offering late check out for being members and we got knocked out of the room at standard time knowing that I’m heavily pregnant! We had to pack quickly and leave and while we were leaving the two girls next to us were explaining to housekeeping they had late check out until 13.00!!! When we went down we were told that we should asked earlier!!!! But don’t worry you can use the pool. Ah thanks so much that’s very kind? I read many reviews about people complaining of the space in the pool and the sun beds, for us that was not a problem , there’s plenty space do not worry about that. The hotel itself is great for kids very family atmosphere. But I’m really sorry, I cannot rate this experience as even good. We ended paying quite a lot of extra money after a mistake of reception and after all we could not use ANY of the all inclusive benefits. We both work in hospitality, my partner is F&B manager and I am a hotel manager and this is simple not the level I expect from a hotel . While I appreciate it can be busy the lack of customer service is concerning. We will be happy if management could send us and email and discuss any solution for us! Our room number was 1366, theres an email address there.

Travelled with wife and young family to this hotel for a week. Don’t understand some of the more negative reviews! We had a great time. We had a room on the first floor overlooking the kids pool which also had a sea view. Once the camp bed is made up, there isn’t much space in the room but we knew that as a family of 4 staying in one room, it would always be tight. We stayed bed and breakfast. Breakfast was fantastic. Plenty of choice and couldn’t ask for more. It did get busy from 9am onwards. They say you can’t reserve sunbeds but that simply isn’t enforced and well, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Hotel is right on the beach which makes for some stunning views. We had lunch at the snack bar a couple of times. They are bothered with seagulls coming down and eating leftovers from plates but why can’t people dispose of their own food in the bins provided? Our young kids loved the K Pop night in the bar and also enjoyed a private show and the mini disco on other nights. Any staff we encountered at breakfast, reception etc were friendly and helpful. The entertainment team were great with the children too. One point - why is the evening entertainment inside? There have a stage area outside with a huge seating area which would surely make more sense in the summer. Pool area was clean. Busy but not unreasonably so. Es Cana is a lovely resort with some great restaurants. We enjoyed La Marea, Marvent and a tapas restaurant whose name escapes me right now. Only thing I would say is that the resort itself despite seemingly being geared towards families isn’t over buggy friendly! There are some rough paths and lots of kerbs to negotiate. Would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel though.
