Tropic Garden is a fabulous family holiday. Santa Eulalia is a beautiful place and Tropic Garden is a great experience for families with children. This hotel is aimed at families but with nice touches for the adults, it’s aesthetically pleasing, food is good, all the staff are lovely and it’s super clean. The entertainment staff are amazing and make sure everyone feels involved. This was our second year with our little one (now 18 months) and we hope to return for another year. For anyone with little ones the travel cots are brilliant, rooms are spacious and having two rooms is fab our little one slept in the lounge area. Mini disco was a huge hit and for all the negative reviews about the time yes it is late when compared to English time but the amount of children that are loving life I would say it’s clearly not a problem, it also needs to be later because of the heat. Thank you Tropic Garden for an amazing holiday again.

We stayed at Tropic Garden during the last week of May and the first week of June, and we had a fantastic holiday. Looking back, I genuinely think the biggest reason we enjoyed it so much was because we upgraded to the Selected experience. I wasn't completely sure it would be worth the extra cost before we arrived, but having stayed there now, I honestly wouldn't return without it. One of the first things that impressed us was the room key. Instead of a standard plastic key card, Selected guests receive a tasteful braided bracelet with a small wooden detail containing the chip. It opens both your room and the exclusive Selected lounge, and it was so much more convenient than carrying a card around all day. The biggest benefit for us was the dedicated Selected restaurant terrace. The main buffet restaurant could be quite busy, noisy and hectic at breakfast and dinner, whereas the Selected terrace overlooked the sea and was always peaceful, with only a handful of other tables occupied. There is also an outdoor terrace for non-Selected guests, but it faces into the hotel towards the pool and entertainment stage, and I imagine tables there would be much harder to come by. The sea-facing terrace made every meal feel calm and relaxing. Another huge perk was the Selected sunbathing area. It features large circular day beds with canopies beside the pool area near the swim-up suites. We only discovered it properly on our third day, but after that we spent much of our time there. While we never struggled too much to find standard sunbeds, they were much busier. The Selected area was incredibly peaceful and was perfect for our family of three. Selected guests also have access to a private lounge with complimentary drinks, snacks, pastries, coffee and sweets. This became a lovely daily stop for us, especially during the hottest part of the day. It was beautifully air-conditioned and probably the coolest place in the entire hotel! Our five-year-old loved choosing a few sweets while we enjoyed a coffee and pastry. There is also a complimentary drinks area with beers, soft drinks and other refreshments exclusively for Selected guests. We didn't use this as much simply because it was located on the upper level while we needed to stay by the pool with our son, but it was still a nice benefit. The staff throughout the hotel were excellent, but Kim, the Selected concierge, deserves a special mention. She welcomed us warmly from the moment we arrived, gave us a tour of all the Selected facilities and was genuinely wonderful with our very chatty, inquisitive five-year-old. She always remembered his name and took the time to speak with him every day, which made him feel really special. Most of the bar staff were also exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We only booked bed and breakfast, but we regularly ate lunch at the pool bar and really enjoyed the food. The pizzas, chicken goujons, sandwiches and pasta were all tasty and reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet was excellent and offered everything you could want, including freshly made omelettes cooked to order. We also chose to eat from the evening buffet on two or three occasions simply because it was convenient. The food was perfectly decent, with plenty of choice and exactly what you'd expect from a good holiday buffet. For us, though, the real highlight was being able to enjoy it from the peaceful Selected terrace. Had we been eating inside the main restaurant every evening, I don't think we would have chosen the buffet as often because it could become quite loud and busy. Our suite was lovely. The room itself wasn't huge, but it didn't matter because we spent very little time inside. We had an enormous sea-facing balcony with a Balinese day bed, and it became our favourite place to relax in the evenings. The uninterrupted sea views were beautiful and made the room feel much more luxurious. The only area where I think the hotel could improve is the air conditioning in the rooms. It was just about adequate and we slept comfortably enough, but it never became properly cool. We noticed this even more after spending our second week in Ibiza at another hotel where the rooms became wonderfully cold. Better air conditioning would make a noticeable difference, especially during the warmer months. The reception staff were always polite and professional, although we did feel they could have been a little warmer and more enthusiastic at times. They certainly weren't rude, but after experiencing Kim's genuinely outstanding hospitality every day, the reception team felt a little less engaging by comparison. The entertainment team also deserve praise. The mini disco follows a similar routine each evening, but our son absolutely loved it. The team were full of energy, fantastic with the children, and it gave the adults a chance to relax with a drink while the kids had the best time dancing together. Overall, we had a brilliant holiday and would happily return to Tropic Garden. My only advice would be to seriously consider upgrading to the Selected experience if your budget allows. For us, it completely transformed our stay and was worth every penny.
