Casa Santa Maria

Very nice indeed, comfortable rooms and facilities. Good help in English (which is not customary in beautiful Andalusia)

Wow!-- the Casa Santa Maria could make a go for it in any city! It's a fairly new operation in a very tastefully converted old building just below the (wonderfully renovated) castle and up the road from the small central town plaza. Super clean and mod. The inn also functions, depending on the time of year, etc, as a bar/ cafe/ restaurant but we and our friends really had run of the place and it was more B&B than hotel. Mari, the manager and jack of all trades, was superb. We were floored that, though we had great stays in Sevilla, Cadiz, Ronda and Cordoba, that the best accomodations we got on our swing through Andalucia were in Madrid (at the Room Mate Alicia) and in tiny, out-of-the-way Alcaudete! We'd been in town visiting friends a couple years back, but the only options available in town then were spartan, to say the least. Who knew?!
