Sandos Papagayo Beach Resort

I’m writing this from my transfer back to the airport from an absolutely amazing holiday at Sandos Papagayo, and we honestly couldn’t fault the experience. From start to finish, it was a fantastic family break and one we will remember for a long time. We are a family of four, with children aged 8 and 4, and our eldest is autistic. The entertainment team were absolutely phenomenal and were amazing with both of our children. They were so friendly, welcoming and inclusive, and really helped make the holiday special for our family. The kids absolutely loved the daily mini disco and seeing Sandito the mascot, and the evening entertainment was brilliant too. There was always something going on, and the entertainment team deserve a huge amount of credit for the atmosphere they created. The food was excellent, with a huge amount of choice and, importantly, everything we had was fresh, hot and really enjoyable. There was plenty of variety, so we always found something for everyone in the family. Our two À la carte meals were also very nice! On arrival, we were incredibly lucky to be automatically upgraded to Royal Elite room completely free of charge due to the hotel being very busy. This was such a lovely surprise and really added to our experience. We didn’t get the upgrade to use the Royal Elite facilities, however with the inclusion of an additional lounge and bar area I don’t think we would have used it. We did initially have an issue with our room, as it was directly below the stage at the Terrace Bar and unfortunately the noise was quite loud until 12am, particularly with young children. However, the way reception dealt with this was fantastic. We explained the situation and they moved us to another room without any hesitation or fuss, our new room was the original type we booked. The issue was handled quickly, professionally and with genuine understanding, which we really appreciated. Overall, this was an incredible family holiday. The staff, entertainment, food and overall experience were fantastic, and the way the hotel dealt with the one issue we had was a real reflection of the excellent service throughout our stay. The whole team here are amazing, always smiling, welcoming and supportive when needed. We will 100% return to Sandos Papagayo and would have absolutely no hesitation recommending it to other families. A truly fantastic holiday from start to finish! 🌴☀️❤️

We had room 1054. The view was amazing overlooking the pools and the sea. Stunning.The room itself needs a little maintenance but saying that , suited our needs . The food was very good , with a wide selection to suit all tastes. No sunbed wars , no dramas , just a very good hotel doing what good hotels do . Making holiday memories for a lifetime . Thank you for a great stay .

This is the best hotel we have ever been to. The food, drinks, views, animation team. We have an extremely fussy child who found something to eat at every stage of the day, every single day. The animation team really makes this place, gets you up and going and keeps spirits up! Our kids are quite reserved and wouldn’t get involved in anything at the beginning, animation team picked up on this and got them up and going - and they got up and involved themselves after for the remaining 2 weeks! Special mention to Rami, who got to know us by name and really made our holiday! Back to back activities for kids and adults all day, choices of entertainment in evenings between the plaza or terrace - something for everyone. Our room was cleaned daily, and the cleaners always made a fun scenario with the kids teddy’s, which they couldn’t wait to see every day! The views from this place are amazing, sitting on the terrace in the evening and watching the sun set is something else. Also to mention the pool bar staff member John, who kept our son going with jokes and laughs for our entire stay everytime he went up for a slushy or ice cream! We happened to be here during the World Cup final and the hotel pulled out all the stops with decorations and celebrations - we will never forget it! The hotel really felt like family! We have never returned to the same place twice - but will 100% be returning here, hopefully sooner rather than later! Thank you to all the staff at Sando’s for an amazing holiday.
