The apartment is located out of town - you need a car to get anything you want from the nearest village. It is very convenient as a base for trekking. The apartment we got was convenient, also not everything promissed were there: no DVD, only local TV channels, WiFi very slow.
We were there alone (off-season, not in weekend), so it was very quiet and peaceful. Isabel, the owner, was very kind and friendly.

An unfriendly, cold, culturally, client-service devoid, upper end apartment.
Priced in the mid-upper levels, the Peguera Apartments are in need of a serious re-addressing in terms of its quality, features, services and price-value for its visitors. Having stayed at apartments and hotel globally, I value ‘client’ focused experiences. Sadly, you will not find this at La Peguera. [see my other reviews for contrast].
My review is based on ‘price vs. quality’. I do not recommend these apartments.
1. Peguera’s Reception is rarely attended.
One may press the ‘attention’ button. Resort to loud knocking on the bottom door to get attention, despite there being a cam in reception. Recommendation: Provide a bell on reception so people understand ‘how to contact you’. Manage client expectation.
2. Peguera Apartment’s Surprise cleaning prices:
If you book for over 2 nights, check out the extra cleaning prices included in the terms and conditions. These are not featured in the total price to pay at the time of booking. These are applicable in all instances and paid from your deposit. [see picture]
Recommendation: Make these clearer and include these in the booking price, not in the contract by-lines.
3. Peguera Apartments offers No tourist information:
Not one leaflet or hotel information is found in the room. You have 20 commandments of things you can’t do or get charged for mind :-D. A pitifully small selection of tourist found in reception.
Recommendation: Place a laminated folder in each room. Hey you might be able to get ‘referral fees’ from restaurants etc.
4. Peguera Apartments Cold apartments:
The apartments are centrally controlled with heating. These are not turned on although there are extremes in temperature 32+ daytime – 14 night-time. A very thin ikea-like duvet is supplied with a very thin pillow. [see picture]
Recommendation: Provide extra pillows, blankets and keep the temperature ‘comfortable’.
5. Peguera Apartments Weak to no wi-fi:
If you’re above the reception, you might be able to get some wifi. The keys you get from reception. However, when we arrived we enquired. Rather than saying: hang-on.. I’ll get it or having a piece of paper with it for checking in, we had to ask again for it at reception. I cannot understand why its not provided in the room. I think you have to have a very determined WAR chalker to enjoy free-wifi 500m from the road.
Recommendations: Get a Mac Time Capsule, boosting wifi 5x and give each room it’s own wifi key. Put these keys in each room.
6. Peguera Apartments Parking space woes:
Rooms are for 4 persons. However visitors must arrive in 1 car or park well outside the premises. There’s only room for 1 client car. I mean just 1 per room. Even then if the park is full, your passengers will have to disembark before parking. Car-parking space numbers seem to change daily. Recommendation: Advise clients of their room number before their visit and manage their expectations by informing that there is only 1 parking space allocated per room.
7. A no-frills apartment:
In the kitchen, there’s lots of cleaning products, but no basics like salt, pepper or olive oil. Perhaps a tea-bag or some instant coffee would be a start? Having been to apartments, which provide the minimum, indeed those that provide this and some basics like coffee and milk. At this price vs. quality, I have enjoyed milk, orange juice, coffee, tea and some fruit. It gets the client past the 1st night if you happen to check in late. Recommendation: For a very small outlay, you can provide value added extras that set your apartment apart from others and distinguishes and marks it as ‘upper end’.
8. Peguera Apartments offers 1 set of towels:
Per person there’s 1 hand towel and 1 body towel. There’s no floor shower mat, so one of your unlucky companions is going to sacrifice theirs. Noble it might be, however inconvenient it remains.
The toilet stick definitely needs changing. Sorry it was disgusting. [see picture]
Recommendation: Put in a shower matt into the shower. This might stop the damp damage you obviously have had. For a 4 day visit, provide an additional set of towels.
9. Peguera Apartment’s 10am leaving time:
Check the terms and conditions. On your last day, enjoy it by getting up early and cleaning the apartment, then have to pay for it to be cleaned again. Leave by 10am or pay for another day. [see picture]
Recommendation: Try flexibility. This is the first apartment I have visited anywhere that one has to leave before midday.
10. Peguera Apartments offers No privacy:
The owner can enter the apartment, at any time, without prior notice! [see picture: Read conditions].
Recommendation: Respect your clients.
11. Quiet TV:
No good for anyone with normal hearing. The TV turned up to max was measured at 45 decibels.
There’s 2 TV controls, neither of which matched the TV’s manufacturers name. Presumably they are there so you break one [in frustration] and face a 35 euro fine [Read conditions]. Even though a universal one costs 6 euros!
Recommendation: Put the function of the controls on the device and a TV which isn’t maxing out the volume and presumably cutting its life-span by maxing out its internal current with extended use.
12. What furniture? Throwback seaside 70’s style.
The furniture and finishes are distinctly 70’s and are right out of the Spanish ‘beach house’ design, than a rustic hotel. It’s clear it’s been decorated without functionality or younger taste in mind. There’s miss-matching tile-work, and evidence that the apartments have suffered damp damage. In the bathroom, the previous and hurried work to cover this up.here’s balcony chairs for 2, not 4. There’s a sofa that fits 3 medium sized persons. [see picture]. The unlucky 4th will have to suffer a hard backed dining chair! Unlike other apartments you may not move furniture to suit your l, or it will, quote, “break it”.
The balcony doesn’t have a small table.
Recommendation: Provide seating comfort for 4 people, so friends don’t get neck-ache talking with friends.
13. Peguera Apartment’s Kitchen Uniformity: The stove appeared to be a rush job, it sticks out from the side panel. Additionally, isn’t uniform to ground level. Expect your tortillas and pancakes to be exceptionally thick on one side. [see picture]
The pluses:
1. Peguera Apartments Location: Well situated near the national park.
2. Nice views from apartment: That is if you’re nearer the road-side.
3. Large fridge with 2 freezer compartments
4. Kitchen has toaster and coffee making facilities.
There is an electric grill pan.
5. Large washing machine.
6. TV came with a wide selection of channels, which was good ‘digital’ quality. [see picture]
7. Kitchen stove is modern. [see picture]
