Hostal El Pilar

We stayed 5 nights at this property. Initially the impression is not excellent, because it is a dated structure. But it was partially renovated and we were not bad at all. The beds are comfortable, the room not very large but livable, clean and tidy every day. The bathroom is very small, but it fits. The shower is functional, the hot water arrives immediately and is new!!! True, it may not be in excellence, but we were fine. Friendly staff, most competitive price compared to other facilities and exceptional location!

very centrally located! Plenty of restaurants nearby for breakfast and or dinner Room small but very good showers. Cleaned every day and new towels. Smooth in and out. You hear other people coming but that doesn't really bother you I stayed there for 5 days with my wife to visit the city and run the marathon. Definitely recommended.

Terrible experience. This is not a Hostal, This is a private family home modified to fit into Hostal category, but is far from that. I stayed in a tiny room 2x3 mtrs. with bad smell, dirty bed closes, tiny private bathroom. The smell at the room is so hard and the lady at the front desk did not want to consider any other option. Besides there is no Elevator to the 4th floor and my room as in a 4 1/2 floor at the top of the property. an improved room. This property does not worth the $107 per night. I have stay in Sevilla at B&B hotels for less than above amount at a confortable hotel, Please refrain to book any room here. I Booked over booking.com and the information there is not acurate. The location is Hostal El Pilar at C. Carretas No.13 Centro de Madrid. I only stayed 1 night of 4. Rather to spend more money on a new hotel for less that this one for the daily cost, for the balance 3 nights in Madrid.. Safety box, need to pay 1 EU every time you open the safety box. and you are forced to leave your room key every time you leave the property.
