Apartamentos La Fonda

We love visiting Benalmadena, and after finding these apartments up in the Pueblo, have stayed with them every time we've visited for the past four years. The location is perfect for us, being away from the hotels along the coast, in the quiet village. A quick taxi ride or bus trip has you at the beach in minutes, with the train station halfway down the mountain. And wandering around in the Pueblo is a very relaxing way to spend quiet time, with many small cafes to just sit, have a drink, some tapas, and just unwind. We have our 'favorite' one bedroom apartment, and the staff do their best to accommodate us in it when we visit, but this time, we had my daughter and partner with us, so rented the two bedroom. We had never seen it, but Irina described it to me over the phone, and it was exactly as she had done! We were VERY happy with it! Roomy, two good sized bedrooms, ample kitchen for our needs, and being one floor above the ground, we had a good view. And I don't know what it is about the beds, but I get a GREAT nights sleep here. We will continue to give them our business, and my daughter and partner can't wait to go back themselves. I can guarantee they will NEVER forget this trip. After reading some earlier reviews about Studio 81 was a little apprehensive about its location and yes it's on the ground floor on a street but there are shutters and curtains and the road is not very busy so this did not prove an issue. The studio itself may be a little tired (the kitchen worktop could repairing) but everything you need is catered for. The bed is comfy the kitchen practical and there is a settee to lounge on whilst watching TV. Bathroom was OK with both a bath and a shower and hot water was always available I know some reviews have mentioned a smell 0f tobacco smoke but as a non smoker I didnt notice this. If I gave one criticism it would be that the towels not being changed regularly making them smell quite musty by the end of the week. All in all for the price the apartments are fine with no really major concerns and I would consider using La Fonda again one day

Bitterly disappointed with studio 81 at La Fonda Apartments and not finding any photos on their website will probably explain why! Can't begin to outline all faults in facilities or lack of them but here,s a few. No privacy as ground floor studio so small the bed was placed near the window so couldn't open the curtains in the morning as view straight on the street for people to look in! Absolutely stunk of cigarette smoke on arrival and when requested a move was informed it would cost us 100 euros more and they still couldn't guarantee us a non smoking room! Very noisy at night as walls very thin...talking, chairs scraping and toilet being used . We never would have booked this studio had we been given the proper information .We ended up finding different accommodation ;(no comparison in standard to La Fonda and the same price)after 4 days as my husband was looking at flights home he was so unhappy. Benalmadena Pueblo village is beautiful with friendly bars and restaurants and we had no complaints about the area at all but we would not recommend these apartments or Teletext holidays who we felt missold us this holiday
