Rincon Sol

Fine location,good staff,very clean and well maintained and very convenient for town and local transport BUT this is NOT a 4 star hotel. The positives are very much in its favour but the hot breakfast completely lets it down. Exactly the same offering every day - the fruit offering is adequate but the attempt at hot breakfast is simply inadequate. The 4 star listing is not justified and should be reviewed.

We returned to Rincón and to Rinconsol as we have done for several years, to enjoy that little Rincincito of Málaga and this wonderfully located hotel facing the beach. We are traveling with three grandchildren aged 12, 9, and 20 months, and for the second year, we are in Suite 516; we feel at home there and enjoy the beach and the magnificent gastronomy. Rooms (the suite has 2) are very clean and well attended to for any needs.

We had two nights at this very well run hotel and I'm a bit confused about some of the poor reviews on here. We are experienced travellers especially in Spain and this is at the top end of what you would expect and offers great value for money. The first thing to say is the staff are fantastic. We were given a warm welcome, told we could check into our room early and helped with the parking. This by the way is tricky in town but they do have good options and we managed to get one of the dozen or so parking spaces outside the hotel itself. You need to leave your car keys at Reception as they are double parked but it worked perfectly for us. They also helped us by providing a kettle and genuinely seem to care about you having a good time. We got a Seaview room which was superb. Uninterrupted views of the beach and see where a lovely way to spend the mornings and the evenings. The air-conditioning was excellent, the bathroom modern and smart and we had everything we needed for a great stay. True, the beds aren't the comfiest but we slept pretty well and got away without too much noise from the corridor. We were room only so can't comment on the breakfast other than to say it looked typical Spanish selection of meats, cheeses and so on. We did use the beach bar which was lovely and we were aware that it was €8 each to rent sun loungers on the beach which are also very comfortable indeed. It was our first time in this town and we absolute loved it. There's no doubt we will be back and no doubt we'll be staying in this same hotel again as it is so well run.
