Senator Banus Spa Hotel

Terrible experience, absolutely to be avoided for those traveling with a small pet! The Senator Banus is not a Pet Friendly Hotel at all: Only after paying for the stay did they inform me that I would find the rules for my 10-month-old, 3 kg dog in the room: The only rules are that she could not access any common area of the Hotel, except for the Reception, necessarily since it represents the only possible exit from the Hotel, and the Restaurant! It's a shame that they didn't even let us enter the Restaurant but invited us to stay in the Garden!!! Incredible !!!! The photo on the hotel website showing a happy dog has nothing to do with reality but only indicates the desire to attract as many customers as possible! The phrases accompanying the photo are, to say the least, implausible for those like us who had to deal with the reception staff, who entrenched themselves behind: these are the rules! Unfortunately we fell for it, but they informed us of THEIR rules only after we had paid. I want to clarify that our adorable 3 kg dog did not create any problems!

A good stay. Our room was very large and had views of the pool and a bit of the sea. It was clean. It had some of the details of a 5-star hotel. The sleep quality was very good. Little noise was heard in the morning. The only thing is that most of the beds are single, although they are pushed together. The breakfast was noteworthy; it was very good, with a lot of variety, fresh orange juice, and the service from all the staff (reception, breakfast, dinner, bellhops, housekeeping, indoor bar, and pool bar) was exceptional. What we liked least was the location next to the Marbella-Estepona highway with a lot of traffic, and the closest beach, a ten-minute walk away, was bad. But in general terms, it is a good hotel.

Not a 5 star or even 4 star in any standard! Totally deceiving pictures as the property is 3 star at its best. Very disturbing and noisy rooms as walls are thin. All rooms and furnitures are dated and old. Shower was loose. No technology update, not even a usb in rooms. Extremely rude manager at the reception as we asked for cancelation and refund of the next night to leave the hotel. Instead of apologizing and acknowledging no response to the loud music being blasted at 5 am he said you only have stayed one night so I won’t cancel the second night. It’s a below average 3 star property in the middle of freeway. Value your money and stay at a decent place instead of this scam.
