Villas los Flamencos

The day we were due to leave, we got a message from them saying that the deposit on arrival was increased from 300 to 500 euros. Further, the price of the stay had increased by another 180 euros due to having more guests than they were expecting, despite me successfully informing them months before that five of us were staying. The woman did not know how to accept an international bank transfer which lead to me getting more cash out and using our spending money for the increased price and deposit. I counted the money three times, she counted it in front of me and confirmed that I had given her the correct amount. A few hours later she tries to get another 20 euros from me saying that she had mis-counted. I refused to give her any further money. It was a nice place however when we arrived the living room floor was dirty, there were ants in the upstairs bathroom, and it always smelt of faeces. We were also only given one key to the villa. The neighbours also played loud music so it was impossible to relax in the garden. There were no curtains in the second bedroom so you were forced to wake up at 6am by the sunlight. There was a dangerous exposed electrical socket in the garden bodged with a plastic bag. I was promised the deposit would be returned to me on the Friday we got back however, it was nowhere to be seen. After questioning her about this and complaining to Booking.com about the constant delays, she decided to take 200 euros off for "harassment" - because Booking.com called her asking why the deposit had not yet been returned. I got 300 out of 500 euros returned 5 days later than promised. She has 4 properties, her name was Almudena Torquemada, we stayed in house number 65. STAY AWAY!

The villa was just as expected, booking and checking in was easy and we were even provided with an extra set of keys. Shared pool had around 20 people at most in mid-august, which seemed really quiet. I'd visit this place again. Good for groups of friends or family with 3+ people.

For families and anyone enjoying quiete livung while beaches and good restaurants and sights are near; Gibraltar by car only 1h5min (use toll motorway, approx 14€), Ronda 1h10min, Marbella 15min, etc. Calahonda in general nice and decent place - go to Torremolinos or Fuengirola, not so quiet.
