Hotel Plaza del Castillo

Magnificent hotel, a green oasis in an industrial zone that you forget very quickly. Located 15 minutes from Malaga airport. 24/7 service. Everything is marble. Excellent maintenance. Swimming pool. Top-notch restaurant with Spanish specialties, in particular, bone-in ribeye and dry-aged ribeye that you choose. You do not have to have rented a room or a thalasso suite to eat there. More than reasonable prices for both the hotel and the restaurant. A must-try without hesitation.

We wanted a nice hotel near the airport for a short stay and this hotel didn’t disappoint. We stayed for two nights. The hotel is quirky and comfortable. The staff in the hotel itself were really nice. The hotel room and bathroom were big, comfortable and very clean. There was a fridge in the room and toiletries in bathroom. Breakfast was €15 euros each buffet style and was more than adequate with lots of choice. They also served real coffee rather than from a machine which we really liked. I chose this hotel because it was close to the airport and because of the pool. The pool area was great to relax in before carrying on with our journey. There were lots of nice seating areas to sit in the evening. Staff on reception were very accommodating spoke to me in English and my partner in Spanish which was nice. Helped us to order taxis and stored our luggage when we checked out. Very pleasant and helpful. The location of the hotel is not close to amenities which I knew on booking but it had a restaurant next door so we ate there. We were really hungry after our delayed flight. However, Although not part of the hotel itself, we did not like the restaurant at all. The menu was limited and rather expensive. The waitress who appeared to be in charge was not very pleasant. My partner is a Spanish chef and we did not enjoy the food. Beer choice was limited. I ordered an Aperol Spritz because I saw the bottles on display. This appeared to annoy the waitress and what was eventually served after 15 mins was lukewarm and was not sparkling or refreshing. On our second evening we ventured out for our food. Thanks to our amazing taxi driver he drove us to a place nearby we were ate the most amazing food. We were very grateful to him. Overall we had a lovely stay.

This hotel is located quite far from the city center, but if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway away from the noise and crowds, it’s an excellent choice. The ambience is outstanding and creates a relaxing atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The pool area is beautifully maintained and provides a great place to unwind. The staff are friendly, professional, and communicate well, making the overall experience even more enjoyable. The in-house restaurant is arguably one of the best in the area, offering excellent food and a pleasant dining experience. While the room itself is fairly average and not particularly luxurious, it is comfortable, functional, and meets all the essential needs. The pricing is slightly above average, but the quality of the ambience, facilities, service, and dining experience helps justify the cost. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for travelers seeking tranquility, great hospitality, and a relaxing stay.
