Very bad experience. Cold staff, lacking understanding, and disappointing sense of service. Following a problem on Booking, two reservations had been created, one of which was already paid for. Despite our emails to report the error, the hotel demanded payment for both rooms and refused access to the one already paid for.
After nearly 3 hours of useless discussions, Booking had to intervene to resolve the problem. A situation that clearly gives the impression of a scam and that could have been avoided with a minimum of professionalism.
The building is fine, but the management and the reception are very disappointing. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel.

Terrible hotel! Old does not mean dirty or without amenities. Very dirty room (mini bar all sticky), there is no TV in the room but in a parallel room. There is no outlet near the nightstands. I would like to point out in particular the lack of professionalism of Mr. Pedro who checked us in. He left me outside the front door for over 15 minutes knocking and pretending not to hear me, then he made us wait forever for the room while chatting with other customers. In the morning he told us to fend for ourselves for breakfast even though we had very specific arrangements with his afternoon colleague. Let's not talk about how he presents himself dressed: pants sagging, t-shirt, it feels like entering a pub, not a 4-star hotel.

A quirky old hotel in a good position near the spectacular old bridge.
The room we had been allocated was on the ground floor next to the main door, you can hear all the comings and goings of guests very clearly which was no problem in the morning but not late at night, you can also hear the night staff as they are across the entrance way.
The room safe was broken I was informed, so that was that ! We had a grand total of 3 cockroaches during our 2 night stay, 2 got trampled and the other managed to hitch a lift in one of the cases to our next destination as I was greeted by it when I opened the case ! Big old cobweb hanging up on the ceiling.
The breakfast staff were pleasant but food was poorish with rubbery cold scrambled eggs , the potentially lovely old courtyard off the breakfast room needed a good clean.
When we checked out we lost the will to complain as the lovely girl in reception was heavily pregnant and beaming about her future baby.
Ronda is beautiful and we will definitely return but unfortunately not this hotel.
