Parador Hotel Ronda

This was our second stay at Parador de Ronda, and once again it was a fantastic experience. The hotel itself is impressive, but the location is what really makes it special – right on the edge of the gorge and next to Ronda’s famous bridge. We had a wonderful room overlooking the valley, and the views were simply spectacular. The hotel also has a lovely, peaceful pool area, which was perfect for cooling down during the August heat. Despite the tranquil setting, you are right in the heart of Ronda, with restaurants, shops and sights just outside the door. Breakfast is excellent, with a huge selection and everything you could wish for. A beautiful hotel in an unbeatable location – we would happily stay here again.

Upgrade to the breakfast included—trust us. The hotel was beautiful, the terrace in our third floor room offered sweeping views of the bridge and valley, and the location was perfection for walks and hikes positioned just outside of the old city. Our only critique would be they charged to lend a wine key; just seemed silly for an area developing their wine footprint. Clean and a good value, there is some late night “city” noise (likely weekend related).

To speak of a Parador is to speak of a safe bet. But if you add to that a historic city with as much art as Ronda, then we are talking about something else entirely. If you are looking for an unforgettable stay in Ronda, look no further. Our experience at the Parador was a ten from start to finish. It is true that the historic center is restricted to traffic, but if you go to the Parador and provide your license plate number, you will have no problem. Although the entrance to the Parador's garage is a bit tight if you have a fairly large car, we were later told that you could enter through the exit, which is much easier. What made our stay magical: -The spectacular views: Waking up, stepping out onto the balcony, and having the impressive gorge of Ronda and the New Bridge right there is an experience that cannot be described in words. The location is simply unbeatable. -Impeccable service: From the front desk staff to the catering and cleaning team, the service was exquisite. They welcomed us with a smile and a kindness that is greatly appreciated. They make you feel at home from the very first second. -Outstanding gastronomy: The breakfast buffet is a true delight, very complete and with top-quality local products. We used the cafeteria/restaurant to eat during the days there and every dish was a total success. -Rooms and comfort: Very spacious room, spotless, decorated with excellent taste and with a very comfortable king-size bed that ensured rest after a day touring the city. For your leisure time you also have a pool available that, without being very large, serves its purpose very well next to the Tagus and with wonderful views. There is a large park next to the bullring and the parador where the sunsets are spectacular. Do I recommend it? Without a second of hesitation. It is worth every cent it costs. It has been a perfect getaway and we are already looking for a date to return.
