Alcudia Garden

It was a very relaxing and beautiful week in a wonderful resort. We stayed in the Palm Garden (annex), which is only 5 minutes away from the main building. The buffet was very varied (a different theme night every day, from Asian to American, Mexican...) Unfortunately, the sun loungers by the pool are a bit scarce and therefore almost all occupied by 10 a.m. It should also be noted that pool towels are not included. The on-site support was very friendly and helpful with departure and other questions. The beach is also only 5 minutes away and the hotel itself is very centrally located.

Just returned from a week A.I with my two older teens. The hotel was totally perfect for us. This hotel was cheaper than brands we've stayed in previous years so we were a little bit apprehensive but we were pleasantly surprised. It's a lovely hotel that gets so many of the little thing right. Check in was easy, staff were lovely and welcoming. Our room was spacious and clean. The pool is big enough with lots of beds and seating around the bar areas. The location of the hotel is perfect with the beach just a minute walk away, we could see the sea from our balcony. We visited Alcudia Old Town and my 19 year old explored the area using the busses at the end of the road. The buses do get busy though. We've found some hotels to be very focused on younger families but here my teens were well catered for and it didn't feel dominated by young children and babies. We got sunbeds, no problem, each day. One of my teens joined in with all the teen and adult activities and had the time of his life playing water polo / volley/ basket and riffle shooting, archery. He loved the outdoor show cooking and my oldest really enjoyed a Spanish lesson. Animation team were awesome. Food was brilliant. I'm celiac with a nut allergy. Everything was clearly labelled and the chef was incredibly helpful. Lots of choice and some delicious stews, pulled pork, Moroccan veg, plus meat cooked on the grill, fish, endless salads, cheeses, olives etc. Drinks were great (sangria, pina colada, mojitos). There were no difficult token systems, just show your wrist band and no more than 4 drinks at a time. There's water stations around the hotel to fill bottles. Evening entertainment was much better than elsewhere and we enjoyed it. The world cup was on while we visited and the hotel handled that so very well with a big screen in a separate entertainment area. The atmosphere was brilliant. We can't think of anything we would fault, it was truly perfect for us.

We stayed here with high expectations, but unfortunately our stay was disappointing on several points, especially considering the price we paid. The biggest flaw was the condition of the rooms. These clearly showed overdue maintenance and the air conditioning barely worked. During our stay we reported this several times, but the problem was never really solved. Even more disappointing was that no apology, compensation or other gesture was offered. The arrival also went messy. Although we had checked in online beforehand, all our details had to be re-entered. We were then told that only half of our stay would be paid for, while the hotel requires full prepayment. In the end this turned out to be an administrative error, but it did make for an unnecessarily annoying start to our holiday. The check-out was quick, but when the receptionist asked if we would come back and we answered honestly that we did not, no response was forthcoming. There was no question why we made that choice, no interest in our experiences was shown and no attempt was made to remove our disappointment. That could have been a great time to make a difference. The service was variable. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful, while others appeared uninvolved. An exception was the cleaning team: they were remarkably friendly, welcoming and made a positive impression throughout our stay. The general hygiene was fine, but that could not compensate for the outdated condition of the rooms. The cocktails were also disappointing and were not of the level you would expect at a hotel in this price range. The hotel definitely has potential, but misses those opportunities due to overdue maintenance, inconsistent service and a lack of attention when guests experience problems. Much of our disappointment could have been avoided if our complaints had been taken seriously and a solution had been actively sought during our stay. We hope management will use this feedback to improve the quality of service. For us the value for money was unfortunately insufficient and therefore we will not return.
