El Chico

Well I have seen some of the reviews on here and with that said I emailed the hotel ahead so that I did not get a room at the front of the hotel due to levels of noise. Well they did not do this as they put us in a room at the front adjacent to the main road and entertainment. The first night was dreadful and we almost asked to be moved however what we thought was that the next night would be better as we would be part of the audience making the noise and how right we were. The front of the hotel is great as you can see everything that is happening. The food... Well what can I say... It is absolutely fantastic. Fresh meals cooked at each sitting and there is something for everyone and today for lunch we had liver... Wow that was awesome and really well cooked as well. You really cannot fault the food however the sausages for breakfast arennot too good as they seem to have to much rusk in them and not too good although then bratwurst sausages were inspiring. The entertainment we have seen thus far is great and the team work so hard in putting the show on.. Well we still have another 4 days to go and my wife and I are looking forward to it. Thank you Ariel Chico.. This is our first holiday in 8 years and it is great.

After reading some of the reviews we weren't sure about the hotel. However, we have just returned from an absolutely lovely week staying at the El Chico with our granddaughters. The staff couldn't have been nicer, and showed no preference to any nationality at all. The rooms were cleaned every day and the towels changed. The food was delicious and the restaurant staff great. We will certainly go back and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Overall it was good value for money, good location, facilities, food, albeit accommodation quite basic was good. Badly let down by the appauling, ignorance and bad behaviour of the manager. Who made it very clear that he is anti-English. Did not want to listen or converse in any way at all to having witnessed an aggressive domestic between two German people, which needed police attendance. However the manager of the restaurant named Manuel is a 'shining star' a true gentleman who listened, cared and made up for the hotels failings. It's because of Manuel that I would recommend the hotel and consider a 're-visit?
