Hotel Cala Fornells

We were at the Hotel Cala Fornells from 09/13 to 09/22 and really felt very comfortable there. The hotel is clean and well-maintained, the service is very good, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The food also convinced us – rich, varied, and above all very delicious. We particularly liked the great location. The area is beautiful and pleasantly quiet. The bay right by the hotel is perfect for swimming and was never crowded when we were there. In the area, there is no typical mass tourism with a large shopping street, souvenir shops, and constant hustle and bustle. We found exactly that very pleasant, because you can really switch off and relax here. Despite the quiet location, you are not too far from Palma, so excursions can be made without any problems. Everything just worked for us. We had a very nice and relaxing vacation and can absolutely recommend the Hotel Cala Fornells. We will definitely be happy to come back!

Positive about this hotel: -beautiful view a large part of the staff is very friendly - nice pool with beds above I also see areas for improvement: The smell in the lobby is very musty, it smells like damp wood - towels by the pool, we sometimes had to wait an hour for towels at the pool while I saw other couples with 6 towels, 2 to lie on, 2 as head pillows and 2 for shade. Give everyone a bath towel upon arrival that you can then exchange for 1 new one. Now everyone could take as much as they wanted from a basket. The biggest problem was at dinner (we had HP). Not enough staff to serve the number of guests. Every evening something went wrong, orders at the wrong tables, something forgotten, lukewarm food. You can choose from one of 5 appetizers/main courses and 5 desserts. I would not recommend HP. There is a doorman at the front door, perhaps better to invest in extra restaurant staff. I found the lunch at the swimming pools to be too expensive for what you get. We were with 2 couples and had booked standard rooms, we could add a sea view for extra money. Not done. Then one couple gets a room with a sea view and the other with a view of a wall and construction. We immediately went to reception and asked for another room, but Magdalena curtly said: you only have standard rooms. We also don't expect a sea view, but the view we had wasn't worth a 5-star hotel. I have stayed in various 4-star hotels that were significantly better than this hotel, in my opinion not worth 5 stars. Keep in mind that you need a car, there is no supermarket nearby (Lidl is about a 15-minute drive via a big hill) We are not coming back here unfortunately
