Hotel Las Arenas

The location of the hotel is great. 10 minutes by taxi from the airport and right on the seafront. We had a seaview room which had lovely views but was quite small . The beds and pillows were really comfy and the rooms / whole hotel was very clean. No bottled water , kettle or coffee machine provided in the rooms. No water available in reception / gym area either. We found this strange for a 4* hotel . Water in the vending machine is 3,50€ a bottle or 3,10€ in the bars so buy it from a shop outside the hotel . The safety deposit box in the room is another additional cost , 3,50€ per day ( normally included for a 4* hotel ). Pool towels - deposit of 15€ then an extra 10€ charge to get a clean one each time ( again, normally this service is included for a 4* star). Breakfast is advertised as being from 07.30 - 10.30 but really it should say until 10.00. At 10.30 the staff come around asking you to leave and everything is taken away !!!! We found the staff to be very rude and unfriendly in the breakfast room ( apart from 2 which were lovely and always had a smile and said hello). The pool on the ground floor is good if you prefer full shade. The roof top pool has amazing views but not much shade. You need to be up there at 10.00 when it opens, to get a sunbed with one of the umbrellas. We had an issue with a cracked shower tray in our room. We did not have a problem with it and did not report it. It happened the day before we were leaving. Reception called our room to say that a handy man was outside and needed to get in. This interrupted our sleep. The handy man sealed the crack and left. Reception then called us again to say that we would now need to contact them to use a different shower in another room ! In the evening we needed a shower so we then had to go to reception . They asked if we wanted to use the courtesy shower by the gym. We said no, we prefer a private shower. They found us a another room to go and shower in but said we needed to return the room key to them and keep coming to them every time we wanted a shower ?!! We refused this . We had paid to have a room with a full working bathroom . They would not move us to another room either. There was no manager present . Finally after arguing, the receptionists called a manager on the phone to ask if we could keep the room key so that we could shower when we wanted to. We felt that although this was not the receptionists fault, this should have been sorted for us already by the manager ,to ensure our stay was not hindered by this problem. There seems to be a lack of customer care in this hotel unfortunately, which obviously comes from management right down through to the rest of the staff .

A hotel with a perfect location for wheelchair access to the beach due to its minimal distance, unforgettable sea views from the exterior rooms, and adapted for guests with reduced mobility. Mattresses and pillows perfect for optimal rest, perfect cleanliness and attention, the breakfast very complete and the service of the waitstaff excellent, Vanesa, and other colleagues with their professionalism and joy made me feel at home and at reception excellent. I will be delighted to return.

This was our third time spending a week at Hotel Las Arenas. Overall, we loved our stay, but there are a few things that definitely need repair or replacement. Our bathroom ceiling had mold, the plastic soap holder was broken, and the towels were extremely worn out. While we had no issues with cleanliness, the housekeeping staff was very slow; once, we even had to fetch new towels from reception because we couldn't wait any longer. Additionally, one of the two elevators was out of order for three days, which made waiting quite time-consuming since our room was on the 6th floor. We loved the breakfast, but dinners became repetitive. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and polite, and the hotel's location never gets old.
