Good and bad elements to this hotel. The location is excellent, if you can deal with sporadic plane noise (to be expected), and the rooftop pool and bar area is a highlight. However, I had issues with a leaking air con unit which put a dampener on my experience. Food is okay for a 4-star hotel, and the staff are lovely, but I do get the impression there are better options available.

We spent a week with our family here in July and had booked the junior suite. The room does not live up to the term suite as it was very basic.
It smells like basement in the lobby and even our room smelled to and from drains.
There are only 2 elevators in the entire hotel so the lines for the elevator were long.
The breakfast itself is okay but the environment to eat in is sandwiched between house walls and private balconies so no further experience.
The beds are like stones and even me who does not usually have problems with hard beds had a sore neck for several weeks after we got home.
The location next to the beach is very good which we appreciated.
If you are looking for a pool area to hang out at, this is not a hotel for you. There are two smaller pools, one at breakfast and one on the roof. Minimal sun loungers.
It is 100% worth renting the sun beds on the roof for 50 euros so it also includes lunch, soft drinks and a bottle of sparkling! The food that can be ordered is of good quality and very good!
Good to note is that all flights arrive and take off close by so there is a lot of noise from aircraft when bathing on the roof and even at the beach.
Summarizing this as a mediocre hotel that is no more than a 3 star hotel.
The very best was the view from our room and the rooftop pool!

We spent 2 weeks at the Las Arenas hotel.
It is a nice hotel, with nice clean rooms and a good location.
The rooftop offers a nice view, which is pleasant.
There are, however, some negative points:
- There is no water provided, whether in the minibar or with half-board, which is a real negative point during a heatwave.
- It is possible to have a beach towel, this is charged at €15 and if you wish to change the towel, you are charged €10 more, I have never seen that and yet I travel a lot, in Europe and outside Europe.
- Regarding the dining, the dishes offered are good, there is not a huge amount of choice but the taste is there, HOWEVER!
Having severe food allergies (peanuts and tree nuts) I have to be careful about what I eat, there are labels in the buffet with the allergens that the food contains EXCEPT for breakfast regarding the pastries, there is not a single one, so I went to see the manager to ask him, telling him that I had seen the labels elsewhere and not in that area, and that for example if I take such a thing with chocolate, I don't know what is in it, he replied to me "chocolate allergy does not exist" even though at no point did I say that and I do not have to receive lessons from him, I have had allergies for more than 30 years, it is certainly not for him to teach me what an allergy is!
I found that not very professional but I decided not to respond to this provocation since he seemed annoyed that I pointed out a problem in his buffet.
We do not recommend this hotel and we will not return.
