Hoposa Daina Apartmentos

We booked a room at Hoposa Daina. When we arrived we were advised that we had been relegated to another building, not the beachfront building as advertised. Not the beachfront building we booked. We were sent around the corner and across the road to a very ordinary looking building- an apartment building purporting to be another wing of the hotel. No offer of assistance with bags. The building was dark and uninviting and we had to lift our suitcases up some stairs to reach the narrow lift. There was no reception and no security. The room was tiny and overlooked the balconies and clotheslines of neighbouring residential buildings. The two beds had been pushed together as two singles with nothing covering the join- sloppy and uncomfortable. To say we were disappointed and extremely confused would be an understatement. Nowhere in any correspondence received from our booking platform AND Hoposa Daina direct was there any indication that our accommodation would differ from the accommodation we booked- this included visuals and written text. There was no misunderstanding on our part. The room category we booked was one included and available in the hotel itself. I contacted Reception (where people skills were often lacking) and advised them that we were unhappy with the deception. The address was also different from the address we were sent. They were reluctant to move us into the main building at first but then relented- however we had to stay where we were for two nights as the hotel was full and we would then be transferred to where we were originally meant to be for our remaining three nights. The staff member confirmed that we would occupy a room in the category we had originally booked. Such categories did exist in the main hotel. When we did move we found the room to be spacious and befitting what we had paid for. I tried to speak to the manager on a number of occasions during our stay but he proved to be elusive. There is absolutely no excuse for being placed in inferior accommodation - accommodation that was less expensive than what we booked. I have read other reviews where similar experiences were had. Responses from management are lame. It is pretty simple - if travellers book Hoposa Daina that’s where they are accommodated and if they book Hoposa Daina Apartments that’s where they go. There is no misunderstanding or confusion on the part of the guest. It is the deception and disregard of management that is to blame. One last thing- Hoposa Daina advertises itself as “Adults Only.” The pools is lovely however young tweens were using the pool every day- I then read hotel literature that suggested that “Adults” at Hoposa Daina are 14 years old plus. Go figure! Outsiders were around the pool every day and management have done nothing about stopping them from entering and using the facilities, often depriving paying guests a pool lounge. Very easy to fix with a keycard system etc. Of course the main hotel is in a lovely location and management will be pleased to know that we enjoyed the breakfast and the pool location. My review is about the Hoposa Daina Apartments and how we ended up there and how they were indeed awful and very tiny.

We were upgraded to an apartment/suite out the back of the hotel. It’s great. Spacious, modern, clean, well-equipped. Two seating areas outside, great shower…perfecto! Lovely hotel, awesome breakfast, especially if you can nab a table on the outside sun terrace! Lovely bar and pool area. Great friendly staff. Use of the washing machine, which helps if you’re lucky to be here a while. Adult only…nice at half term when the resort is full of families , to have a bit of quiet at breakfast and by the pool…though one child slipped in. He was well-behaved and harmless! Close to the beach and lively centre of the resort…which is the only downside as it’s very noisy out the back, especially first thing with all the deliveries, cleaning staff, waste removal and all the other essential business of maintaining business. Our second visit and hopefully won’t be our last! Thanks, Team Daina

Just back from a very relaxing holiday staying at this hotel. I was a bit. On earned on arrival when we were directed out of the hotel to across the road and into another building. Not sure why when the hotel was constructed the rooms were only designed for a maximum of 2 people. Our room had a bedroom, bathroom and lounge with sofa bed and small but well equipped kitchen. The bathroom had a sliding door which didn’t slide all the way and whilst the shower was an excellent size the grout on the tiles could have done with a good scrub. Breakfast was excellent, but all tables on the terrace were set for 2 people, but there were many people who had to sit inside due to having a large group of people. The pool area was lovely and despite previous reviews we had no problem getting a sun lounger at any time. The bar staff here were very attentive and helpful. Surprised that the hotel doesn’t have a proper restaurant, the breakfast room would make a nice one. All in all a nice hotel, great location
