Fontanellas Playa Aparthotel

Beautiful hotel, amazing location, staff were ok (not great, didn’t go out of their way), the rooms were lovely and clean. However, I unfortunately had my bad stolen at the pool on the second last day of the holiday. It made me realise anyone can walk into the pool area, you don’t have to be a guest at the hotel. One side of the pool has a gate that you have to access using your key, but the other side doesn’t. One member of staff (the lifeguard) was very helpful, he emptied all the towels out to check it hadn’t ended up in there, the other staff however were not. When I reported this missing to staff (at reception, as well as at the bar at the pool) no one seemed in any way bothered about helping, or even surprised that this had happened. I’ve stayed at this hotel 3 times now and always felt safe, however I couldn’t relax on my last day knowing this had happened.

This hotel is lovely. I booked a stay this September as a returning customer because my family had had such a great stay last year in October. Unfortunately, our flights were cancelled at the last minute and we were unable to get to Mallorca for a further 2 days. Our stay was only for 4 nights, so basically there was no point in going...we would have enjoyed Mallorca for one day before having to return. I telephoned the hotel immediately and emailed them, with all information about the fact that the flights were cancelled and we had no way to get to Mallorca. The hotel have charged me for the entire stay as I was a 'no show'. I was prepared to pay a cancellation fee (not a small amount) because I appreciated that the hotel were losing out on custom. However, their decision was to charge me for the whole stay despite our inability to get to Mallorca was BEYOND our control! So my review is not about the hotel itself, but its cold-hearted customer service! And the fact that there was no lack of compromise with the office staff. Customers are not valued. We are just business...money was more important than a flexibility which would have encouraged me to return to this hotel the next time my family visit Mallorca. As we would most certainly have done. However, our custom was not of any value, except the money that we have paid for a stay we couldn't use.

Perfect hotel, only 10 mins from the airport which is great if you have children, there’s a small mini mart attached to the building which is very handy. The beach is a literal stones throw from the hotel and there’s restaurants serving amazing food on the door step. We tried the bar food too which was really good. I had fried baby squid with aioli which was restaurant quality. There’s an aquarium which is a 5 min walk, and we booked a trip to see the dolphins etc through the hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious and the staff were very helpful. We will be coming back next year.
