Calan Bosch Villas

Stayed at the Jet2 Villa Noixa for 1 week. Arrived on a Saturday afternoon and the villa was well presented, clean, had air-conditioned bedrooms and everything we needed for the week. We have no complaints about the Villa itself. However, the visitors book advised that the pool maintenance was 'usually' done on handover day and that visitors should use the outdoor shower before entering the pool to help keep it clean. We then discovered that the outdoor shower and been capped off and was no longer in use - so not an option! From the Saturday to the Tuesday evening the pool was dirty, stagnant water with a greasy film on the surface that highlighted every bit of debris that landed on it and made us extremely reluctant to use it. There was no filtration system on and the pool had clearly not been cleaned or chemicals added. I woke on Wednesday morning to the pool filtration system being turned on and a distinct smell of chemicals that had been added. I would very much like to know why - 4 days out of the 6 1/2 days we were there for - was the pool left as a health hazard! This was our first time booking a villa, so we really were not aware that we should have expected the condition of the pool to be so much better. Extremely disappointed that Jet 2 think this is acceptable and it will make us think twice about booking one of their Villa's in the future.

A nice villa but dated,it could do with new bathroom suites,they were adequate but old with rusted taps and sink plugs,only 1 of the over mirror lights had a light bulb in.Kitchen was equipped with everything you need,again,a tad dated,good sized fridge freezer.Air conditioned throughout which was lovely.The pool was ok and met our needs but the sunbeds were in a very poor condition, saggy,worn and very uncomfortable!! The photos show an outdoor furniture suite but there was only a small 2 seater settee which again wasnt very comfortable .Dining table and chairs were not too badThere was a base and pole by the pool but no parasol which would have been handy.The beach just a few minutes away which we didn't venture to.One criticism we had was there was only the one single loo roll in both bathrooms and no replacement bin liners in the kitchen although on the guest info book it requested that you empty your bins daily at the nearby refuse and recycling facility...the point being,these are basics and for the money we paid,should have been provided.The beds were ok but pillows were not great.Wardrobes were big and roomy with plenty of hangers and a built in safe in the double bedroom. Shutters on all the windows were easy to open and helped keep everywhere cool. Dishwasher(we didnt use so cant review )and washing machine in 2nd bathroom, sml outdoor airer on back porch. There are a couple of supermarkets and a nice restaurant called 2 rocks about a 10 minute walk away,the marina where it seems most of the livlier restaurants and bars are was i"d say about 30 mins walk away.nearby bus stop with a service that does stop at the marina and will take you to the old Capital of Ciutadella is 5- 6 minutes walk from the villa but this service does get very busy as picks up at most of the hotels along the way but from where we were,it was before it got too crowded so getting a seat wasn't an issue, journey took about 50 minutes.A local taxi was easy to book to Ciutadella was around 20 euros and took around 15 minutes....not bad considering he stopped and waited for us on the way back to do a quick supermarket run!!Both supermarkets stock a good range of everything including fresh baked goods daily.To summarise, i'd say a basic villa,clean but needs new outdoor furniture, sunbeds etc and interior updating (lounge furniture was comfy ,only 1 English channel if you want to watch t.v.)in a quiet area so a car is handy if you aant to explore the island.

Booked Villa viola Bosch through jet 2 holidays. It was a family holiday which cost over £8000, We were a little disappointed with the Villa it was a bit tired inside but the thing that disappointed us the most was the outside furniture and sunbeds. Two of the chairs outside were dangerous and couldn't be sat on, you spend most of your time outside on holiday so I think the owners needs to get there act together and sort these issues out. My Granddaughter had a great time in the pool which was clean, a pool guy came and cleaned the pool a couple of times. We had a good holiday but wouldn't use this Villa again.
