El Llano

We booked to stay here for 1 night. Had a bit of trouble finding it as the sat nav kept sending us wrong, but that's not the hotels fault, I did tell them about it. It said 5 mins to town but was 10 mins in a taxi. The receptionist was lovely and chatty and gave us some maps and advice where to go then said to ring her mobile if we needed anything. We got back from town late afternoon and the hotel was deserted. So rung her number and she said she would walk up, she lived just down the road. When she arrived we asked for some drinks and to sit on the patio. No, the restaurant and bar were closed and would not open that day. She said there were only 6 people staying so it wasn't worth opening. It also meant we couldn't get breakfast or even coffee. We had to go back to town again for beer and food. It's a shame because it's a nice hotel, lovely and clean and comfy beds. If they had mentioned it when I booked it wouldn't of been so bad.

I stayed one night in this hotel, which is located about 3 km from Caravaca de la Cruz. It's in a quiet location with not much traffic (it looks like a whole new neighbourhood, the hotel looked pretty new as well). There are not many restaurants around so you better head to Caravaca de la Cruz at night. Reception is closed in the evening, so better check in early! The room was spacious, beds and bathroom ok. We didn't have any breakfast as it was served late. No English spoken in this hotel and there were problems with the payment terminal when I checked out in the morning (I had to pay in cash).

Weekend break in Caravaca.. The hotel was difficult to find being new and on a new estate. away from the town. Car is necessary. The hotel is being run on a tight budget , only saw two staff who were working very long hours. Food not too good obviously from frozen. Breakfast adequate. Wifi not working. Rooms very good but bathroom vent not connected, nor were lights over the mirror. Only one bolster pillow, no extras. Hotel needs a bit more thought if it is going to be really good. But we had a good break, which is what was important. Staff very friendly, only spanish speaking.
