Rias Bajas

Hotel Rias Bajas is a modern hotel in the modern section of Pontevedra. My husband and I booked a two night stay and it did was worth it. This hotel is strategically located at the pedestrian walkway where retail shops, restaurants and cafes are situated. It is approximately 10 minutes away from the historic center of Pontevedra. The rooms are spacious; bathrooms are clean with strong water pressure. The buffet breakfast has a variety of deli meats, breads, rolls, and pastries. Hotel staff is very courteous. For Camino “pilgrims” who choose to book hotels rather than albuergues, this hotel is worth considering.

Establishment right in the center of Pontevedra. Very decent facilities and great value for money Friendly and professional staff They have a parking lot where they allow you to keep your vehicle on the day of departure until 4:30 PM Recommended establishment

Hotel is in a great spot for exploring the old town. Added bonus of hotel parking at a very reasonable 14 euros per night. As for the hotel all I can say it is a little out dated but comfortable and clean. Breakfast as some reviews state was good though we found it lacking in choice. Rather outdated in my view, 1960s/ 1970s offerings. Pure early package holiday breakfast. Juices were all in my opinion package mix and nothing fresh. All cold meat and cheese were processed. Cereals were as basic and cheap as you can get. If you wanted toast then you had to put your bread in a sandwich maker!! They did offer scrambled egg and bacon which at times staff never checked if it was empty or not. Coffee making machine broke down leaving only one for everybody.it seemed that staff were not overly concerned about delivering a service to paying hotel residents. Overall enjoyed the old town but found the hotel in a bit of a back water. For all of the walkers who have given good reviews are happy at the end of a hike to relax. For me who was only a visitor to see what Pontevedra had to offer, the hotel was disappointing and over priced. This is only my opinion but i would say that there must be better if you do a little research before booking. Something that I will do in future.
