Cambrils Playa

I think I initially booked this as it was priced competitively and I had stayed at H10 previous as had family, so felt I knew the standard. In fairness if you scroll reviews there are some elements I should have picked up in before booking, the no tea/coffee in room for example. The food was a bit limited and repetitive, dining experience not an overtly pleasant one at best and at worst way to condensed a dining area for that many people. Booked a room with pool view and had a few trees in front of it just above the roof of the outdoor dining area. Coupled with a very small balcony, wasn’t great. Room was ok, beds a bit firm but feedback on cleaning is fair, towels changed and beds made but cleaning doesn’t include removing old glasses etc. Towel rental is odd, pay, collect at pool guy, need to keep a receipt and then use to get back and your euros are tied to an actual receipt at your end which they need to go through lots to find. Lots of little things like this that felt oddly too hard. Got served lunch on the Friday outside but told on the Monday not available - all a bit odd. Our experience of staff was generally good although some weren’t. I feel for them tbf with what they are working with. Location wise, the beach is literally across the road and it’s a brilliant beach and outlook but there is literally a hotel across the road that would give you a view, kicking myself for not looking at that one in comparison. Couple of small supermarkets and the bus stops are super useful, but mainly because you’re not close to anything really (bar the beach) Main part of Cambrils itself is worth more than 1 visit, some nice places to see and visit. In summary, not the best H10 out there and if I ever go back to Cambrils I’d go to Sol port which is in the heart of the main part of Cambrils.

We had a pleasant stay here. Hotel is a bit dated but most staff were good - barring the lifeguard who changes your towels. He was quite rude to both myself and my husband on a couple of occasions. We were on a bed and breakfast deal, for what we paid the breakfast was very good. We ate out every evening so can’t comment on lunch and dinner. The hotel does have a problem with pigeons which means often the outside tables and sunbeds are soiled. With regard to the tables these do get wiped by staff. The onsite entertainment team were very enthusiastic. Other shows were hit and miss. The main concern is the lack of lifts. There were a lot of elderly people and people with mobility problems staying whilst we were there. There are only two lifts each one holds 6 people, not taking into account the space needed for wheelchairs/mobility aids Would we return probably not but for what we paid the hotel was adequate

10/10 for our 5th visit in 3 years! We love it here and have stayed in numerous H10 hotels. Things to love: 1. Location - jump on the bus right outside to whizz along to Cambrils or Salou. 2. Beach - 2 minutes walk away; absolute bliss. 3. Food - breakfast is amazing (just need a second egg chef as the guy was rushed off his feet trying to do fried eggs, pancakes AND the occasional omelette! The eggs are so popular worth having 2 chefs on for peak breakfast time). Dinner is good always nice things to enjoy. 4. Animation Team - we felt included and loved ALL the games and activities. The best way to meet people from all over the world; amazing fun. Judit, Oscar and Ali are the shining stars of the hotel. Loving the new coffee workshop!! 5. All staff - all friendly professional and helpful. We’re very grateful. 6. Rooms - good quality, well-equipped clean and lovely views whether poolside or back street. If you love sitting on the patio - ask for a high room number. 7. Gym - lovely space and good equipment. 8. Air Show - we were lucky to experience this year’s show. Incredible! 9. Lightning! - we also got the blessing of seeing an incredible electric storm at night over the ocean. Truly spectacular. 10. Global guests - we met lovely people from Spain, Germany, Holland, France, Brazil, the Ukraine. Fabulous. We’re already planning our 6th visit! Well done to the whole team; reception, cleaning, maintenance, lifeguards, restaurant, bar and gardeners - a fabulous hotel.
