Pension Venecia y Montecarlo

Most horrible place I've ever slept. The rooms have a horrible smell between old and damp. The bed was full of black hair, as was the bathroom. The TV was not working and to top it off we had pet company throughout the hostel. I would never recommend it to anyone.

Beds are rock hard, rooms don't have aircon, only one plug socket and that was high up in the bathroom. Staff not very friendly, no lift. It's very close to the beach and the train station. We only stayed 1 night but wouldn't stay there again.

I usually trust Booking.com but never again after staying at this place, it's under no circumstances a 1 star hotel and should be described as a hostel not a hotel. The images are not aligned with the actual standard or decoration, the room was internal bad very poorly decorated, not clean, no exterior Windows and a view of the internal shaft from the bathroom. The worst bit was the heat and a useless fan with obviously no air con, the staff are literally ignorant, we were promised a breakfast to takeaway because we left at 6.45am and breakfast starts at 9am and finishes at 10am, but when we checked out we were told nothing had been prepared and basically tough. When we asked for advice on getting to Reus airport they did not even know where to catch the bus or taxi price. Basically Salou if full of budget hotels but this is not suitable accommodation and we would say it probably doesn't even have the basic fire safety doors, it cost us 55 euros and I really wished we hadn't tried to sleep in the room for the night because we just couldn't sleep and it would of been better to sleep on a seat at the airport. If I were you just pay a little extra and avoid this place
