Santa Monica Playa

Excellent hotel. Food really good, staff helpful, room spotless and cleaned daily. Drinks reasonable priced and plenty of sun beds around the pool area. Definitely value for money.

Just returned from 5 night all inclusive break. Hotel is in a really good location literally 5-10 minute stroll to the beach, main shopping area and bars and restaurants. Some less mobile people may find the walk back up the hill a little strenuous. Reception staff were courteous and check in straight forward. Room was clean and basic and in need of an upgrade but okay for a 3 star hotel. Pool area was lovely. The food was fresh, plentiful and varied but felt the menu was aimed more for the Spanish guests (but we were in Spain) so not a problem for us. We did find it a bit disconcerting however that as guests who were all inclusive we were often served drinks in plastic glasses. This is absolutely appropriate when sitting by the pool but this happened when sitting inside in the main bar area and we witnessed other guests automatically being given drinks in glasses. It happened to us again when I requested a coffee and a hot chocolate and despite saying twice we were sitting inside I was given drinks in paper cups! The hotel was good value but is 3 star so don’t expect more than that.

I am staying from September 1st to the 8th. With a 10-year-old child, we were placed on the fourth floor, but there are also unrenovated rooms. There is very little entertainment for children; it is almost non-existent. Because there is only one entertainer. When there should be a few more. Fátima the entertainer is very nice and tries to get people to do the activities. In fact, for adults and if the children want, she does Aquagym. It is great, and at night there is also some show. But there is no mini-disco, nor is there a mini-club. In the renovated rooms there is no mini-fridge to put water in. They leave the rooms more or less clean; you have to understand that they do many rooms. The food is repetitive and there is not much to choose from either. But we had a good time. The Wi-Fi sometimes goes out.
