The hotel's proximity to the town center is a notable advantage. However, several concerns warrant attention: The placement of family rooms on the 5th floor raises significant safety concerns, particularly regarding balconies and potential fire hazards for young children. Room dimensions are notably compact. There have been reported incidents of cleaning staff pilfering personal belongings, specifically jewelry and alcohol, from guest rooms. My daughter's gold cross was reportedly taken and subsequently returned following a threat of police action from myself. The culinary offerings are unsatisfactory, and the establishment does not adequately accommodate children with special needs. An insufficient number of parasols are available around the pool area, which is particularly problematic given the hotel's family-oriented nature. The elevators are characterized by slow operation and limited capacity, making it impractical to transport a double pram without collapsing it, which is inconvenient given the location of family rooms on the 5th floor. All-inclusive beverage service concludes at 11:00 PM. Conversely, the reception staff consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism and attentiveness. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this establishment nor do I intend to return.

The location is great just a few minutes from shops and restaurants. Very busy hotel. Reception can be very slow for the amount of guests. Room small but adequate. Air conditioning great. Food not the best but we always got something to eat( we are quite plain eaters) Maid in every day making up beds and leaving toilets rolls etc. Pools were great my kids especially loved the pool with the slides. Entertainment staff were very enthusiastic and seem to enjoy their jobs as well as getting everyone in the holiday spirit. Bus stop just up a bit from hotel to Portaventura. All in all we had a great holiday. This hotel is over hated and lots of people complain about the most ridiculous things. A holiday is what you make it and we have all enjoyed our stay at the Calypso Things that could make hotel better is a faster computer system for things like checking in and when bar staff is ringing in your drinks order it seems very slow compared to the UK. Lifts are both small and hot to be in. Go and enjoy and don't sweat the small things.

- 2am wake up calls from drunken idiots playing music on the balcony, someone shouted to them that “they are trying to sleep” thats when they went out in the corridor asking for a fight with the person. - Rude and unhelpful reception staff members (not all the staff just certain ones) - Luggage lockers only accept a €2 coin and no where in the hotel will change it for you. They do have a coin machine but it was broken. - Pools open around 10:30 - Pool with slide is deep so not great for little ones. - Food is ok, not the best for kids as they don’t offer a great selection. Deserts are good though. - The hotel have a Reusable cup system so you get a ticket to give to the bar, they then give you a plastic cup with your drink of choice and when your done with your drink hand your cup back in and you get your ticket back, or just keep refilling your drink. if not all inclusive obv have to pay for drinks snacks etc. People will take your cups so be carful. If you don’t have a ticket or a cup they charge €1 extra per cup. - Night time entertainment is on until 11pm so if your balcony is above the stage it is noisy. - Rooms are modern, but they are not cleaned properly, the shower is good but the cleanliness is a let down. - someone poo’d in the pool and they didn't shut the pool straight away so people was still going in it. They scooped the poop out with a net and then closed it. The next day the pool was open like nothing had happened. - I went on holiday with my partner and little boy and all 3 of us were ill from this hotel. - Beds are uncomfortable and hurt your back. - 1 child fell in the deep end of the pool and no lifeguard to be seen to rescue them - pool toilets smelt and are disgusting - queues to pool bar are slow and long - kids throwing balls in the pool and hitting people in the face etc. - pools are over crowded for the size of this hotel. - I would say this isn't a Brit friendly hotel and would not stay again here.
