Rooms - big however dated and falling apart, doors have been taped up from damage, shower you have to hold the shower head up, bedding well even the clean sheets leave something for the imagination. Towels tiny imaging a face towel that have holes in but do seem clean. Walls paper thin so bring ear plugs, we could hear both next doors conversations, Not to mention kids running up and down the corridors from 7am.
Pool- never dared go in, looks lovely at night, in the day close up its filthy however our second evening we realised why, they clean the sunbeds and floor area off with a hose pipe straight into the pool ... lovely. Our first holiday we have ever been on and not been in the pool! Crazy.
Food- basic choice and that would be fine if the food was cooked, we had raw pork, raw chicken more than once
and even frozen battered sausages one evening.
We all lived and no food poisoning so bonus but we are now sick of chips as this was the one thing cooked well. Breakfast we managed some bread, beans and hash brown each day, bacon and sausages just cheap and the pink spots in the sausages just put us off. Lunch we never stopped in the hotel could not think of anything worse haha.
Evening meal theme nights terrible, they say theme night as will have maybe 1 dish in that theme the rest just seems to be whatever is either in the freezer or on special at the wholesalers. Plan on eating out is our advise. If you eat in check the meat.
Snack bar - its ok better food than the restaurant as its just deep fried so at least cooked, no pizzas or fish fingers as advertise just chicken nuggets, chips and onion rings with toasties made if you ask although the guy serving when you ask for a toastie makes you feel like you have just stripped his sole away.
Staff - miserable apart from reception, that's all can say, never had hospitality like it.
People say its a 3 star , we have stayed in 3 star before more than a couple of times, this isn't 3 star at all. If you think it is, you need to travel more.
Tip- get a bus card and get out the hotel, portaventura world is a great day out, Salou we did not like very chavy no Spanish feel to it but better than being in the hotel.
Nice beach to the left of the hotel about 10 min walk but view of cargo ships out to sea is well not what you expect when on holiday, sea is clear and plesent, Tarragona was nice walk round habour and some decent food.
Overall I'd say avoid, even if your thinking just for a budget holiday you will end up spending more due to food and location so it would be better to spend in the first place. Again our view we do 3 holidays abroad a year some are 3 star this is not 3 star by any stretch of someone's imagination!
Those that review the food as good, the hotel as good I hate to think where they are comparing it too.
Entertainment think of a caravan park, bit of a mini disco, bingo and a singer normally, 10:30pm sharp stops and bar closes.
We wouldn't go back but the hotel has a lot of potential, if they just refurbished the rooms and improves the food you could over look the other issues for the price.

I just got back from this hotel and was worried as it has mixed reviews. I’m going to give my own detailed review and how we experienced this hotel.
Reception:
Reception is kept clean and it looks lovely and well presented, the lifts are small there is 3 of them but they were manageable. There is a lovely snack area ( we were all inclusive) that had nuggets, chips, pizza, toasties, onion rings etc. They are trying to stop reusable cups so you’ll be expected to pay €1 per reusable cup that you’ll get at the end of your holiday when you leave.
Restaurant:
They have a different theme every night but not a lot of choices, I am a very fussy person so chips was on the menu for me every night but I’m also not a complainer. Desserts was pretty much the same every night, not the worst food but could have been better if more choice was available. There was times we had to wait for dinner as they place was fully packed which I didn’t get why they would house too many people and not enough seats at the restaurant. Breakfast choices weren’t bad from fruit to cake desserts, cereal, toast and a cooked breakfast. Lunch I never really did as was always out.
Rooms:
Rooms were clean absolutely no issues with the cleanliness but I will say that they are in need of decoration and an updo. White walls with some tiles cracked in bathroom and skirting. There was a safe but there was no locking mechanism we didn’t ask for one so not sure if they are available at the desk. There is a tv with a few channels and a dining table. Blankets are available and beds are comfy to an extent. Aircon in rooms was lovely and nice view from balcony.
Pool:
The pool is small, it is also very very cold not due to the hotel itself but it was freezing even with the 28 degree sun on us. Plenty sun loungers but no music. Life guard is on duty from 10am and is mostly on her phone but is aware of what’s happening. Smaller kiddy pool was dirty when we went in first time however was cleaned out after a few days. You do get pool side games for children aswell with the entertainers who really try there best and are great with kids.
Staff: Staff are friendly but not a lot of them smile, a few of them at the bar had very sour faces but the others were very polite and helpful when needing assistance with bus’s and things.
Entertainment: There is a kids mini disco, bingo and then some live performance every night in that order. The live performance is different and we enjoyed the different types of entertainment from illusionsists and singers. I cannot fault the entertainment staff as they really try and engage the children to do all sorts and the adults too.
Travelling: The bus stop is located right outside the hotel and if confused you can speak to the reception team and they will offer guidance. Easy to get to portaventura around 20/25 mins on bus and into salou which is about 10 mins. Bus prices arnt that expensive a family of 4 was about £10 euros to get into salou.
Overall the hotel wasn’t the worst and it wasn’t the best. Family and budget friendly. I won’t be back but didn’t hate my time there x
