Golden Port Salou

We stayed here 11-18th July and stayed all inclusive, we were a party of two parents, a young adult and a teenager. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Special thanks to all the staff, especially the all of the entertainment staff Andreas (loved his waterpolo), Dominiq, the lady who did aquagym.. They were all brilliant. Reception staff were very informative and helpful, thanks to Ana and the team. Restaurant and bar staff were lovely too. People mentioned noise. I am a very light sleeper - my last Jet 2 hol I needed to buy ear plugs it was that bad. But here, apart from occasional noise hearing people walk down the corridor at night, (happened about twice), which wasn't a problem, I thought the sound proofing was excellent, no noise from above or below on our 2nd floor. Shout out for the shower, my partner is 6ft 6 and he could get under it! Highlights for us were the activities, we did waterpolo, they have a session for teenagers at 2.30pm and then one for adults at 3.30pm - think 16 plus daily. My teenage son did football, we also did darts, killer pool, the golf game they do. There was something for everyone I would say and an extensive programme every day. I think it'd be especially good if you have sporty teenagers. activities also looked good for younger children, they had their own pools and I heard the entertainment for them too. Lots of pools, a large one, a rectangular one - no ball games or inflatables in that where they held water polo. A couple of smaller pools for the younger children and they had a slide. This was really good as something for everyone. The food like everyone says was excellent, we all ate differently, I had fresh fish every day, salads excellent, family ate meat options- we were all really pleased. I enjoyed the cava and rose and red wine on the all inc. We like to get out and about and went to Barcelona for the day on the fast train. To do this we got a taxi to Vila-Seca Station, this is a better station as has more trains going through. Taxi to the station 15 euros, then the fast train to Barca, took 1 hr 15 and got off at Barcelona Paseig de Gracia which is right near the Ramblas. They are doing building work on the Ramblas, but still worth a trip. Think it was 8 euros each one way per person on the train. Would recommend the hop on hop off Barcelona bus as hard walking in that heat, plus Camp Nou out of town. Also went to Tarragona on the bus for the morning, it was quiet and very Spanish so worth a trip out. Salou was busy with a mix of Brits, Spanish, French. Food looked about mainly 18- 20 euros for a main meal in resort. Beach excellent. No stones, gently shelving. We liked the smaller Capellans Beach - 10 min (slightly uphill) walk from the hotel (go past Shankley's) and from this beach there is a walkway around the coast to the main beach so we did a circuit in the morning. Hired a pedalo 30 euro I think for an hour and also the inflatables in the sea about 20 euro per person. We really enjoyed ABBA Universe, they were fab in the main bar. I have seen a lot of ABBA tributes acts and these were head and shoulders better than anything I had seen before. A lot of acrobats too- not so keen on that! Also you can't see magic from a distance! We prefer more tribute bands, missed Michael Jackson tribute and people liked that I spoke to. Music in the Gregal Bar sounded good but couldn't get a seat outside. Could do with speakers going through to the next room as could hear the act when the door opened, but not when it was closed! We met so many people at Golden Port who had stayed there previously and I can see why. A two hour flight for us from East Mids, Reus is a small airport, transfer 30 mins. We don't usually return to places, but this hotel was something else. We had a fabulous time. Thanks for a great holiday!

We stayed here in 2023 and returned with the extended family. I typically dislike all inclusive but the food is so varied & excellent, you never got bored. The restaurant is well managed too but there can be a short queue. My wife had a birthday while we were here & for a small fee, they arranged a personalised cake. We upgraded to their own all inclusive which allows for free snacks and more importantly, free top shelf spirits without limits. The rooms are excellent. Spotlessly clean & serviced every day if you want. The majority of staff are superb. Friendly & really helpful. I used the Spa for a facial with Martha and she was brilliant. For me, the only downsides are sun bed availability. They do try to police this with use it or lose it cards but it’s not that effective. I note other people have mentioned it’s noisy at night. This is true but I always use soft foam earplugs to avoid this, wherever I’m staying. Plus, it was World Cup final week so i understand the celebrations. Salou is nice too if you do venture out. The nearby rollercoaster park & Ferrari land are brilliant and well worth it for thrill seekers. Overall, a solid 4.5 out of 5.

Had a relaxing time at this hotel Place is absolutley spotless Food plenty to choose from in the spacious restaurant Room lovely corner balcony pool view plenty space fantastic air con walk in shower good storage and big mirror which is also bathroom door Only small thing doors eg veranda and one to get in room were very heavy to open and close room 640 I have athritis and could be difficult Never used entertainment every night but what I saw was Very good for familys on holiday Location perfect near everything 5/10 mins to strip and beach All the staff were very pleasant and hard working in every area of the hotel Sunbeds were always available You get the few who cant help themselves down early putting towels on not returning till later Same every hotel but didn't think it was that bad Never used spa but area looked clean and nice first impression stepping inside this hotel And getn to our room wow beautiful Will return to salou and Golden Port 😊
