This was our second stay here though three years apart. The apartment is perfect for us. It's at the quieter end of La Pineda but less that 10 mins walk you are in the middle of all the action. The no floaties in the pool rule was not a problem for us at all. I thought my 8 yr pls would be disappointed but she didn't once mention it to us. The Bus stop was around the corner from us so we were able to pop into Salou any time we fancied and all excursions pick up were done here too. I am covered in bite marks but got them while out and about. Nothing to do with the apartment in our case. If coming back to La Pineda we would definitely stay here again.

Having previously stayed at the pineda park apartments in 2017, we booked a last minute week away, this time at the Los Juncos apartments over the road. Having emailed Thomas prior to arriving to advise that our arrival time would be around 11;30, we were kindly given keys at 1pm instead of 5pm. Which gave us time to get some shopping. The apartment itself was of a similar layout to the one we previously had, separate kitchen, living room, bathroom and two bedrooms. As our three like to share a room we used the bed from the living room sofa, in the second bedroom to make a third bed in there. The kitchen was more equipped than the one at pineda park, this time having a washing machine, iron and ironing board. Big bonus when travelling with children. The pool is much bigger, but as the apartments are half private residents, floats are not allowed. There are also no beds, but we didn't have an issue with this as the grounds were maintained exceptionally well and there was plenty of grass. The apartments benefited from a large outside area including a small park, basket ball court and tennis court . We were able to use the facilities over at pineda park, which we tended to use the pool as, although smaller, it felt much friendlier and more fun as floats are allowed. Unfortunately Frank the entertainer who was there in 2017 is no longer there. This was a massive disappointment as he was fab with the kids as well as adults. The ladies in his place were good but lacked enthusiasm and were, in our eyes, just going through the motions. as the kids said, it's just not Frank! There is nightly entertainment which is ok but again not as good without Frank being there. The apartments are a two min walk from the local supermarket however we preferred to walk to the other end of la.pineda to use Michaelangelo's, which has a bigger selection and an on-site bakery. The beach and main Street is around 5 mins walk and has a variety of shops. The beach is lovely and clean but does get very busy. Again we preferred to visit towards the other end of the main Street near Michaelangelo's as it was a little quieter. We only have a few grumbles about the apartments; we kept getting bitten. We couldn't tell if it was from the sofa, beds or the blankets used for extra warmth, the safe hire was 30€ which was non refundable and the parking was 30€ for the week, which we had no choice in paying for as finding a space to park is like finding the end of the rainbow! Overall we had a lovely holiday but no Frank and the bites have definitely put us off returning.

Booked a week in Los Juncos at the last minute and we were very pleasantly surprised. The Pineda Park across the road owns a block of apartments in a residential complex and so the facilities differ from the stereotypical holiday complex. There are about 200 apartments around an secure large garden which had a great pool, boules, courts, swings and fountains. There are no sunbeds but they are not needed - prewarned by another review we brought a picnic blanket with us. Each day you just lay your blanket on the grass in the sun or under the shade of a tree. There is plenty of space and atmosphere. We were the only english speakers there but that didn’t matter, it was very relaxed. There is no poolside bar etc but also no restriction on bringing own food or drinks to the garden (no glass). The pool is open to midnight in the summer and the kids had an after dark swim one night. If you prefer traditional poolside then just cross the road to Pineda park where all facilities are available to you. The 2 bed apartment is excellent and easily slept 2 adults and 3 children (6,8,11). We took the spare mattress from under the sofa bed and put it on the floor in the bedroom so nobody had to sleep in the living room. It could sleep 6 if needed. Kitchen very well kitted out and you could cook proper dinners if you wanted although we ate out each night. Excellent air conditioning. La Pineda is fine. There are a range of quality of restaurants but they mostly serve the same fare. Some of them don’t speak English or have English menus so ordering can be a bit lucky dip but we only had 1 poor meal. There are no large bars or nightclubs and the area is very family oriented. The beach is fantastic and only a 5 minute walk from Los Juncos. We didn’t bother with water parks or theme parks but there are loads in the area. We took the bus into Tarragona one day. We explored the old town and had lunch. Just paid on the bus (plana bus) e2 each person each way. The journey is about 15mins. The bus stop is around the corner. Overall a very relaxing & enjoyable week.
