Olympic 92 / Golf de Sant Jordi

Olympic 92 is an incredibly well looked after apartment block. The outside areas are excellent, very pretty and well kept. Every apartment has a very of the pool and sea and balconies over looking these. Inside they are really basic. We got a two bed even though we'd paid for a one bed. Apartment has cooker, fridge freezer & washing machine. There is no air con and balcony doors didn't lock, which did worry us but someone would have had to scale the front in full view of every other apartment to get in. Bathroom was crappy, only word for it. Outside as well as a pool, there are showers, table tennis table, basketball court and squash court. The sea is directly opposite. There is a supermarket within five minutes walk and the port is a nice ten to twelve minute walk alongside the sea. The train station is about 15minutes walk and there are trains into Barcelona and Valencia. Tarragona is not far on the train, about 20 minutes. Tarragona has a great roman amphitheatre and a lovely old town with picturesque squares. Litoral are the letting agents and it is a complete pain to have to go to their offices to collect keys, leave a hundred Euro deposit and then go back two weeks later to get the deposit back. Not easy when you don't have a car!Cambrils is a wonderful place to visit and I can totally recommend these apartments. Although basic and have their problems, you can't beat the price-we paid £381 for two weeks accommodation

Olympic 92 & Golf De Sant Jordi are two separate apartment complexes. The original photo and details on which we based our booking were of Olympic 92, however when we arrived at the agents offices we were told that we would be in the Golf de Sant Jordi complex that was about 400 metres closer to the town centre. The office staff were very helpful and polite. Both complexes appear to have excellent facilities - private gardens and well maintained pools. The apartment we stayed in was a good size, and was well equipped. The rooms were fairly clean ( though the cleaners had omitted to sweep under the beds). There was a 'bit of a smell' from the drains in the kitchen, utility room and bathroom. - but that probably reflected the fact that the apartment had been unoccupied for a little while. The electric appliances were all functioning, and the crockery and cutlery were pretty clean. The 'welcome pack' was a bit of a joke - comprising one toilet roll, a dish cloth, a pan scourer, and a tiny bottle of washing up liquid. The apartments appear to be a mix of holiday lets and permanent residences. Whilst we were there barely a quarter of the complex was occupied. The main town centre was an easy 10 minute walk along a fine beach side pedestrian walkway. The only real downside was the total lack of air conditioning. Daytime highs exceeded 30c and evening lows were in the mid 20's with a fair degree of humidity. There was little in the way of a cooling breeze, so sleeping was uncomfortable. Having to keep windows and blinds open meant that some nights could be rather noisy - particularly at weekends, or when there was a bit of 'wave action' on the beach. Matters could have been improved greatly by the simple and relatively inexpensive fitting of ceiling fans to the living room and 2 bedrooms. I would not contemplate staying there in the height of the summer without knowing that adequate cooling facilities existed.
