Palas

Nice location that allows you to either stroll quietly on the recently renovated seaside Paseo, or take the bus to Salou, Tarragona, etc. The more athletic will take the path to Cap Salou and its lighthouse...at the hotel activities: aquazumba, darts, pétanque, morning stretch, etc. Entertainment in the evening as well. Many shaded areas (palm trees, arcades, etc.) an area to eat outside (not air-conditioned obviously but phew!) Less noise! Catering quite decent. Marmara team that is trying to make a place for itself in the international team led by a character who would do well "to tone it down": Santos Ask for a sea view!!! Watch out for the rooms to the left of the hotel (building 1: Marmara but not only) because on that side on the weekend there are weddings, events, etc.). Wedding zone. There is a "quiet" pool but are the drinks paid there??

Advertised as a 4 star hotel in the resort of La pineda.and all in all it's okay. It has good access to Salou and to terragona on the buses. The rooms are basic but clean and the cleaners do a great job at keeping the rooms clean daily. The hotel is split into two buildings palas 1 where they have some of the two story apartments which are really nice or the simple rooms with a bed and shower room. I'd recommend spending a bit more to get one of the two story rooms. The pool and facilities are good and the animation team are very enthusiastic, good with the kids and seem to work really hard. The entertainment on the evenings was very poor and repetitive and almost completely managed by the animation team who are not the best actors but great with the kids. Some of the staff were quite rude, I think that the management of the dining service is very strict, they don't like you moving a chair to a different table so that family can all sit together and there was a smell of sewage in the outside seating area The food has a good selection but is repetitive every day. Breakfast is carried over into lunch on the outside garden which doesn't look very appetising hours after it was first cooked. The guests at Palas pineda seemed to be largely French nationals and were quite rude and abrupt. Most of the staff seem to make announcements in French and in Spanish but not everybody speaks English which left me and my family feeling a little excluded. I most enjoyed the water zumba which is done at the same time every day and I wanted to take part in the pool party but this happened whilst we arrived on day one and unfortunately was only done once. The noise of the hotel can be a little loud in the morning with the maintainence team cutting grass and deliveries arriving at 0730 in the morning but during the day and night it's fine and lively with the entertainment team keeping guests active which is as to be expected. Nice hotel but I don't think I would stay again as we didn't get value out of all Inclusive opting to eat out and watch alternative entertainment due to the poor offering of what was on offer.

Very good hotel, with a very nice location if you wish to visit Port Aventura World! We were with Marmara and everything went well. The welcome is top-notch, the pool was slightly dirty, I found. The only major downside for me was the food… We got sick at the beginning of the stay, and it happened every time we ate at the hotel restaurant.
