El Navio

A little late writing this! What a gem of a place. We arrived late in the pouring rain and had an issue with our key. We had to call the owner who swiftly arrived to let us in, with absolutely no hassle. The hotel is small but for us, ideal. Perfect peace and tranquility with amazing views to the sea, the plantation and La Gomera from the private, HUGE terrace. The rooms are basic, but everything works and super clean. The furniture is typically Canarian and the whole place has an historic feel. Lots of references to the family origins which is really endearing. The walks along the coastal path are lovely, but would say a little precarious on an evening. We didn't have a car but the taxi into town was less than €10 euro. The food is again typically Canarian and you have to pre-book dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed all the food (and their own wine) that we had. All the staff are lovely and extremely accommodating. We loved it that much, we are returning at Christmas.

What a lovely hotel - tucked away in a banana plantation 20 mins walk from Alcala. Views across the sea to La Gomera, Really nice breakfast, spotlessly clean, great sea view balconies.Pool area really nice. Dinner a bit variable otherwise 5 stars !! Would definitely go back

Beautiful hotelletjre, small scale, quiet with everything up and on. Rooms all overlook the sea and the owners' banana plantation. So you literally wake up among the bananas with a view of the sea, what more do you need. The breakfast is simply grandiose. All fruit from our own farm: papaya, melon, kiwifruit, etc... and of course bananas à volonté! In the evening you can dine before 20eu pp for a menu 3 courses. You can walk through the plantation on foot via a private road to the sea: an adventure in itself! By the sea you will find several bays where you can chill out. Ethical restaurants in the area. Beautiful walks to make less than 30 minutes drive from hotel. We were not really to be found to visit one of the Canary Islands, but a last-minute brought us here on Tenerife. We instantly fell in love with this wonderful island. Welcoming from the brothers who run this hotel.
