Spa Playacanaria

Thought I found a nice hotel to celebrate my birthday but boy was I wrong looks nothing like the pictures, the food was! Well I will say you can live on it that's it, rooms clean but no bedding has been changed since we got here, towels not been changed since we got four days ago! Today being my birthday thought I would celebrate it at the hotel with my kids and friends but that was cut short at 11pm we all got kicked out the bar and told we had to go to our rooms if I new I was going to be given a curfew for my birthday I would've never booked this hotel I don't recommend anyone to go to this hotel unless you fancy being tucked in bed by the security guard who couldn't even smile at the kids basically the hotel is rubbish or by the way tv didn't work lol

This is the second consecutive year we have stayed at this hotel for an early spring getaway with family including. Granddaughter now aged 18months. I mention this because the staff were exceptional in ensuring that she was okay and went out of their way to greet her. Anyway back to the hotel, typical Blue Sea hotel which means food is good with an extensive choice. There is a poolside bar with a wide range of non acoholic and alcoholic beverages. A shop on sight catering for most things including milk, beer, after sun, cigarettes nicnacs etc. Pool is big and was fine in March but I would expect it may get busy in summer. The grounds are extensive with a number of areas to walk through and rooms clean nd tidy. It represents value for money in my opinion and whilst the main shopping area is a short walk it is uphill coming back so a taxi is an option for some. The town is great with an excellent seafront and numerous bars and cafes to grab a drink outside and watch life go by.

I went here august 2025. The pictures definitely look nothing like the hotel, chickens walking around the pool, dated rooms and the staff are so so so rude apart from the manager. I wouldn’t say this is a 4 star hotel at all. There is a massive queue to get drinks of a night by the time you get your drink the entertainment is over it’s ridiculous and as all inclusive you have to pay for your cup. The food is revolting and there is not much choice. I wouldn’t come to this hotel again. There was cigarettes on the sun lounges and across the floor outside the rooms but apart from that it was clean. However, the view from the balcony of our room had a gorgeous view of the mountains and in a pretty good location not too far away from the town centre of puerto de la cruz although i wouldn’t recommend walking there and back as it is all on a massive hill. But I still wouldn’t say it is 4 star
