Great hotel from the moment you check-in. Lovely friendly welcome and great staff all round. Good room, which was enormous with a beautiful balcony overlooking the pool, bar and beautiful sea. Great bed with lovely soft pillows and super soft sheets. Lovely towels in the bathroom. Would have preferred a walk in shower rather than a shower over the bath. The breakfasts were superb, very good selection and evening meals were the same. There was a rotating menu in the evening with different countries e.g Asian, Canary USA. Super ice cream available every night.😋 The waiting staff were very good especially Guacimara. Shout out to David, Noel and others who were super in the Breeze bar. The swimming pools were superb with ample sun loungers and very good parasols with fabulous views out to sea. Finally a very good animation team led my Manuel , Martha Aga and Mano Very friendly, good fun exercise classes which broke up the days well. Not pushy either 👍 Great walk to Los Gigantes or Puerto de Santiago. Boat trips from Los Gigantes. All in all a piece of heaven, stunning sunsets and best of all Adult only ❤️

My husband and I stayed for 10 nights. We were disappointed with our room on arrival having booked a superior with sea view. We were located on the 6th floor which meant the sea view was obscured by the pool and trees with limited view of the Los Gigantes cliffs. However we were very pleased when the reception staff offered a change the next day to level 9 which had an exceptional view of the cliffs and was very much appreciated (room 912). A lovely touch was a cake and message from the staff wishing me happy birthday which I presume was highlighted by the cleaner on seeing my birthday card as we hadn’t mentioned to the staff, this was a lovely gesture. The hotel is spotlessly clean with great pools and areas for sunbathing. We enjoyed the good choice of sunbeds and never had an issue with getting beds. The daytime entertainment team were very friendly and not pushy at all, just informed of what was going on. I took part in the Aquabike, Aquadance and candle making activities which were all very enjoyable. The evening entertainment could have been better and we’ve experienced better in other Tenerife hotels. This was a bit of an issue for us as due to the location of the hotel there is very limited options outside of the hotel which don’t require a long hilly walk or expensive taxi. The food was varied and overall we enjoyed it and the service in the dining room was friendly and drinks were offered quickly. We were very impressed with Viktor who was there to welcome guests into the dining room, he was very friendly and smiley each time we seen him and he is an asset to the hotel. A negative for us was the limited choice of beer available, the draught beer available in the Breeze bar was good however this was only available in bottle in the dining room and tasted awful. As my husband is a beer drinker he felt the limited choice of beer was an issue and would have enjoyed the option of more variety such as Carona. I have to agree with another reviewer that the service in the Breeze bar was not the best, it was very slow, with the exception of a couple of waiters we found the staff there to be rather unfriendly. Overall we had a lovely relaxing week. We are unlikely to return however this is largely due to the location of the hotel and the limited options to enjoy lunch outwith the hotel and evening entertainment elsewhere.

Currently staying in the Barcelo Santiago, half board. Arrived at dinner for our first evening meal, to be informed that we would be charged €3 each for tap water with our meal! Whilst I understand charging for bottled water, I did think that this was excessive given the price already paid…..a beer here is €3.70 so the pricing does not make any sense. Having stayed at other hotels in the area that are slightly cheaper, such as Landmar Playa de la Arena who have water stations, I think the approach to hydrating guests is very poor. I asked if I could go to our room, fill up the glasses on the table and then bring back into the restaurant, the answer was yes. I also asked if I could bring in a huge bottle of €1 water from the mini market in to the restaurant and use, the answer again was yes. Rather silly considering this is a 4 star hotel. What blows my mind is that at breakfast, you are allowed drinks!!
